There are a lot of people who come in to the forum just to start something where the passionate ones to follow will start fighting on... why cant we just enjoy the cricket... Yest was two of the best knocks we have seen in this IPL.... But there were numerous people who would comment on North Vs south here... why cant you happily accept a raina(northie)taking CSK home and DK(Southie) taking Delhi home... I love IPL... IPL is integrity...Good going guys...
OK, I can only see one possible way this could happen:
- First ball, Batsman A on strike (94*), 7 to win - the ball is struck (presumably to somewhere in the outfield) and the batsmen take three runs. However, on one of the runs, one of the batsmen accidentally fails to make his ground, so the umpire calls a short run and that run is disallowed (as per Law 18.4(a)). While the ball is still in play the fielder throws it to the wicket-keeper but overthrows it, and the ball goes to the boundary and so an additional four runs are awarded (as per Law 19.6). Thus, six runs (3 runs - 1 short run 4 overthrows) are awarded to Batsman A for his century and according to Law 18.12(a), Batsman B would now be on strike.
- Second ball, Batsman B on strike (94*), 1 to win - the ball is struck over the boundary for six. Batsman B scores his century and his team wins the match.
If anyone knows of any other way this can be done, please let me know as I would be very interested to hear your solutions. However, according to the laws of cricket, that is definitely one way to solve the problem.
PS - Just thought I'd correct some of the other suggestions. If the ball hits a helmet on the field, the batting side is awarded five penalty runs which would be added to the scorecard as Extras and not the batsman's score. If the last two balls of the innings were in different overs then Duckworth/Lewis would have to be applied and the target would almost certainly change.

if there is only 1 run to win and a batsman hits a 6. the run credited to his tally would still be 1 and not 6. I am not sure about this. Please clarify.
Dines Kartik long time ago was named as captin stuff by Coach. But his scoring is mainly by cutting and sweeping the ball.I thinking Parthivpatel as a good WK batsman after Dhoni.

Did you watch his batting yesterday? It was full of straight drives, cover drives, mid-wicket flicks and pulls. I didn't notice many cuts.

It does not matter how we score runs in T20 dude. Moreover,Karthik played the likes of Shane Warne and Shaun Tait very well. Parthiv Patel is ok but he is not as good as Dinesh Karthik. He can only play second fiddle and not play a single handed innings like this.Dinesh Karthik scored a quickfire century in the IPL-2008 decider against Mumbai due to which Delhi Daredevils reached the semis. Parthiv Patel is no match for Dinesh.

as such even dhobi no match for kartik. All these wicketkeeper batsman kartik, Ojha(RR), Gilly, Boucher etc much better than dhobi. Dhobi is simply an average batsman just hyped by media & continue in team in name of captaincy.
