Totally disagree with Dhoni. Cricket is cricket whether T-20/ODIs/Tests since great cricketers in each format are the same e.g. for India: a. Dhoni b. Gambhir c. Harbhajan Singh d. Sehwag e. Zaheer Khan
All of them are doing fantastically well in all the formats of the game.
1. Yousuf Pathan on many occasions opened innings in the IPL or batted at No.3
2. In ODIs he was sent at 6 or 7 and on most of occasions in hopeless situations.
3. What Dhoni has done in matach vs. Pakistan - a walkie talkie nothing shot in front off wicket.
I think Dhoni is rattled by this defeat. But he must remember it is only one game he lost that too due to picking Dravid who is a fully depreciated item in all formats of the game.
HI I am a club cricketer from Brisbane. I think what India need is proper guidance. Indian selectors are picking people from IPL to play in the Indian team. Dhoni has now recognised this problem and he should make sure that not too many Ravindra Jadejas and Yusuf Pathans get picked without proper performance in the domestic one day and list A cricket.
Negative thing about Dhoni is that he did not go up to the bowlers like in th T20 World Cup 2007 and ask how they are felling and how they want to bowl to a particular batsman and etc. As being a Captain of my school team I have seen that talking to my bowlers frequently about their position in the game and their roles, give the bowlers confidence and thus they bowl better. So Dhoni needs to talk to his players often to unleash confidence and thus their full potential.
I am not trying to say that I am a better captain than Dhoni but I think that if that technique works for me it can work for him.
Dhoni should also concentrate on the present rather than looking at the past performances. India should look at the other succesful teams like SA and Pakistan and see what are some techniques they are using to be succesful. Dhoni has a lot to learn but he is a very quick learner and he is close to being a great captain like Ganguly. Good Luck India. And you cannot blame sepcific bowlers for the loss of the whole team. The bowlers should try and work hard tough and study the batsman whome they are bowling to and they will win
Both Ishant and RP were over-rated and the sudden decline in form and ability was a surprise for everyone. Both RP and Ishant were good IPL performers in SA, and so was Nehra. Even Zaheer thought Nehra/Ishant was a good pair.
India's ODI bowling lineup would consolidate after this loss and dropping RP or Ishant was not justified after the Sri-Lanka ODI win in the Compaq Cup which India won because of Sachin's hundred.
Let us look at the ODI only economy rates of the following bowlers:
It appears that ECO rate are more important in ODIs as compared to strike rates, because chasing 300 was not a practical approach, in addition to the injuries this Champions trophy was a bust as far as India was concerned. Let us hope that Munaf, Praveen, Nehra and Zaheer are picked ahead of Ishant and RP Singh.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That is a good joke bro. Ya I 50% agree with you. Cricket is a game after all like all others but when your country is playing you should support them whole heartedly but not get too emotionally attached. Cricket is a game play it like a game not a emotional charger.
How were Dhoni selected in Indian Team? Did Laluprasad pushed Dhoni in the Indian team OR his performace in the Domestic cricket?
Think before you say any thing. Domestic cricket is the yeard stick to pick out talent. Talent needs to be nurtured then to make him Worldclass cricketer.
Mr. Dhoni keep promoting himself without showing trust in new kids, is not the way to groom new cricketers.
Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and all other greats were selected based on their performance in Domestic tournaments. Their captain did well to groom them..

BCCI must curb Dhoni, as he has assumed way too much power. And he is using it for his own betterment.

I think BCCI should consider the option of "pay according to performance" idea.. All the players should just be given a basic salary (which should be normal as other people earn like 25k per month) and should be given a bonus of Rs. X when they perform well... the performance criteria can be purely statistical and if it results in India's victory they can even get an additional bonus of Rs. Y. I think this will motivate players to perform well.. Money does the talking these days as Lalit Modi has shown in IPL.. What do u guys think??
