Now there will be champions league from 8th Oct...Too much of money involved maybe thats why we lost and wanted to go back home.Lalit modi should be put behind bars for destroying indian cricket..
no.pakistan will feild their depelted side against full strength aussie and get defeated.then they will play england at wanderers against england and will lose to england because we saw them struggling against west indies on this pitch and nearly lost that match.so pakistan will fell into their trap by getting defeated against aussies and coming second in group so as to expel india out of champions trophy.we indians must pray to god for england to win the semifinals
i dont think aus will make it to the final...its englad vs pakistan and englad are the winners as per their current form...and all 1 2 3 ranked team will be at home..hehehhe
Re: DRAVID - THE WALL

What is the point of having a wall (test style) in ODI's nowadays when 300 and even 400 runs are scored. Players aggressive frame of mind is the key to winning nowadays
STOP WATCHING IPL MATCHES. IPL HAS DEGRADED THE QUALITY OF CRICKET & PLAYERS. THE PLAYERS PLAY IN IPL WITH A CASUAL APPROACH. WHETHER THEY WIN OR LOOSE THEY ARE GOING TO GET THEIR MONEY. IN IPL PERFORMANCE IS A FLUKE.

YES.I ALSO HATE IPL. AS U SAID IT HAS DISINTEGRATED THE PLAYERS. MOREOVER DURING IPL MANY INDIAN PLAYERS GOT INJURED INCLUDING SEHWAG, WHOM WE MISSED IN CHAMPIONS TROPHY. MAYBE IPL CAN BE SCHEDULED ONCE IN 3 YEARS. IF IT IS PLAYED EVERY YEAR I DONT' THINK THAT IT IS GOOD FOR THE INDIAN CRICKET.
Are the ODI ratings a true picture of teams ? How can a team with a substandard bowling attack and unpredictable and vulnerable batting lineup like India be the No.1 or No.2 team in ODI ratings? The bowling is a repeated failure miserably in all matches.

dumbo.....the rating is not based on one tournament..its for the full year...the full year india didnt have a depleted bowling attack...lets not write without knowing the facts

Mind your language and don't make indecent personal remarks like dumbo. Keep discussions limited to the subject. Don't show your emotions arising out of unreasonably high opinion about the non-performing Indian cricket team.Further, don't show your intolerance towards another person's opinion regarding the Indian cricket team's ODI ratings.

What are u talking about depleted bowling attack ? Only Zaheer Khan is missing. Ishant Sharma is an opening and strike bowler alongwith Zaheer Khan. Harbhajan is a strike bowler. RP Singh has also played a number one day matches. When it comes to major tournaments, all these bowlers fail and the bowling suddenly looks depleted due to the absence of one bowler, is it? Request you not to use words like dumbo. Lets keep discussions to a decent level. Opinions vary from person to person , thats why we have discussions

The same team with a substandard bowling attack and so called unpredictable and vulnerable batting lineup has won most of its matches this year, and hence it is on the top of the rankings. Rankings are not given on the basis of batting strength or bowling strength. It is the win-loss record that matters. Losing couple of matches does not diminish the value of a side. India is still better than any of the other teams. A lousy team like England has entered the Semis this time. It happens in cricket. I can understand your angusih, but lets face it, Cricket is unpredictable after all. All of our bowlers are proven customers, who had couple of bad days.

You may be right in soeme issues, but ZK, RP, IS, HS have played well and win major tournaments last year ... with the combined efforts of Sehwag,Yuvraj,Ten, Dhoni... All Eleven matters to India
If India wants to start performing well again and climb back to No. 1 spot in ODI rankings, they should bring back Rohit Sharma and Robin Utthappa...Once Viru, Yuvi and Zaheer are back, we need to kick out Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan and Ishant Sharma. Best team for India will comprise of: 1) Sachin Tendulkar 2) Virender Sehwag 3) Gautam Gambhir 4) Yuvraj Singh 5) MS Dhoni 6) Rohit Sharma/Robin Utthappa 7) Amit Mishra 8) Harbhajan Singh 9) Zaheer Khan 10) Ashish Nehra 11) RP Singh (or need to try a new pace bowler)

No & Never Rohit Sharma. Sharma never make good score. He does not play short pitch balls. Robin Uttapha is better only.

U r right TYAGI...i missed DRAVID in the line-up. He should be the 1st choice over Rohit Sharma and Robin Uthhappa, but if incase he he is not available, it has to be Rohit Sharma or Robin Utthappa.
Re: Re: Bring back Rohit Sharma and Robin Utthapa
by Harsh Aghicha on Sep 29, 2009 03:03 PM
Alright..then its a four-way tie between Dravid, Raina, Rohit Sharma and Robin Utthappa...may be the board should apply some rotation policy to give all these players a chance..but one who doesn't perform consistently should be kept out..after Rahul and Sachin, there will definitely be a place for Raina and Rohit Sharma in this team...provided they are consistent...

Harbhajan, Ishant, RP Singh can be dropped. No second thoughts. Ojha, Amit Mishra should be contenders for spinners slots. Munaf Patel, srishant can be tried for a change. Everybody wll have a bad patch but what is surprising is that instead of improving, so early in their careers, I see RP Singh and Ishant Sharma have dropped pace considerabaly. They are just medium pacers now, shade faster than Sourav Ganguly at his best.

Srisant was instrumental in giving India's first overseas victory over South Africa, when India toured that country last time. Hewas very effective in South African conditions, and he should have been an automatic choice. But the current skipper lacks confidence in him.
EVery player has their favourite grounds and favourite opposition. SA is a country where Srisant would have flourished.
