sachin

Sachin is by far the best batsman of the world,no need for him to retire, what ever ppl may think but dont forget in his 19 year career when ever india won in big finals there was an innnings of substance from sachin, be it Cocacola Sharjah cup(1998),Independence cup, Srilanka(1998), Triseries in Australia(2008) and Compaq Cup(2009), but what he still lacks is a triple century in Tests and a double centure in ODIs, a World record highest score in both Tests and ODIs, perhaps if he achieves these four records in next couple of years, he will truely be next only to DON BRADMAN or perhaps equal to him.

People who are asking Sachin to retire, do they think giving chance to youngsters is more important than winning matches for the country ?? If the youngsters are talented, they will make a place for themselves like Sachin did at the age of 16.

how ? if it so then sunil ,kapil, bedi, saurav
have never retired . the question is to make
a future team so one has to give a chance to youngsters and by the way sachin is a good player but not a match winner.

Sachin is definitely a match winner. I dont know about Bedi and Gavaskar, but Kapil and Saurav were nowhere close to their best when they retired. There are a lot of players in Indian team right now that deserve to go before Sachin. And its not that there is a long line of talented players just waiting to get a chance. If that was the case, then we wouldnt have been forced to bring Dravid back to one day team. Perfprmance should be the only criterion for selection, not age.

yeah, i agree with Ashwin, becuase sachin is not a mere passenger in the team, he performs and claims his place in team, an ODI average of 44.5 and test average of 56 is no joke and not a lay man's taks. At present he looks fit and fine and looks good enough to carry on till 2011 world cup, youngsters like virat kohli, rohit sharma, robin uthappa etc coming in but not able to cement their place due to inconsistent performance ,they cant blame Sachin being in team for their below par display...!!

i think ppl need to understand that only age should not be a criteria to retire.

Performance in game and athletic ability to support the performance should be the criteria.

as far as i can see, Sachin is still on top. so for those who talk about Sachin retiring, please shove a cricket bat up your behind.

Sachin is not a god

God always win the battle. He is omnipotent and he is everlasting. NO DOUBT SACHIN PLAYED REMARKABLY EXCELLENT GAMES BUT NOW HE SHOULD RETIRE AS HE WILL LOSE HIS NAME LIKE MANOJ PRABHAKAR. THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR HIM TO RETIRE FROM THE GAME AND TO BE A COACH FOR INDIAN TEAM ( BATTING)

hey i totally agree with you.....every player has his bad days and good days sachin has already played a lifetimes game.I people should feel ashamed to blame him like that. When he plays good they all are proud be indian because of him when he has a bad time everyone says he should retire. Its high time people should change.

Sachin didnt get chance becoz Gavaskar retired...U nuts. Sunny was in great form, he could have easily retired after 2 years. Had he not retired we would have seen couple of series Sunny and Sachin together...If youngesters are capabale enough cliam their chance dont ask for chance !!!

Absolutely i accept with what c m had said. One thing we have to know that sachin kind of legends will come once in a while. If there is another sachin in the waiting he will definitely get the chance as sachin got when so many senior players like kapil, azhar, sidhu, srikanth, vengsarkar, shastri were in the team in 1989. In fact he got the chance & played with them for few years which means he was good enough to be in that elite squad. He did not beg anybody to retire to get his place.

Adjectives & Indian
by janijohn janardhan on Sep 24, 2009 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

We Indians love to throw adjectives at anything & everything. Next thing you know is your son calling your neighbour god.
Sachin is by far the best sportsman India ever produced but calling him God is excessive
