thats the problem!!! whenever we have to look @ success, we have to look 500 or 5000 years back... not 5,10 or 50 years back... being No. 1 is about consistency... Live in the present, not in the past...

India has not won even one world cup after 1983.. Australia has won so many.... India has never been a consitent .so why so much hue & cry about rating........

@S Narain - Ratings are based on current form dude. So why not Sachin be rated #1 batsmen every year.
Rainy frog should be taken to mental asylum for a thorough check-up. He/She is talking nonsense, literally. This is just like, I am hungry, hence I am sleeping.
This is an utter failure of Delhi Govt, which is responsible along with IOA. These people should be banned and matter should be taken by a professional group like IMG to hold such international events.

After cancelling world shooting championship in Delhi, there are bright chances that Delhi may cancel the Commonwealth games 2010 on one pretex or another. Security reasons or whatever. Once the politicians and contractors have cornered their share of the Games funds, they won't take a re-look in cancelling the games.
Only way of promoting other games in India is by banning the cricket on TV and by stopping the cricket business by BCCI and state level Boards.

The only game India can host is Cricket. This is because the whole lot of politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, media and corporates support only game - Cricket.
The Govt provides free security to cricketers whose primary aim is to play for the companies they endorse.
But for Asian Games champions, world champions and Olympic chamions the Govt has only have to say - "Go to He11".
Just remember how the CM of UP showered crores on cricketers of her state from the Govt account, and turned her eye from Olympic Bronze medalist from her state.

Thisis the story of all Govt. The problem with the Govt that they only want to lick the a$$ of cricketers. Just remember how Harbhajan Singh had insulted the Arjuna award. For him money from his sponsors is the only thing for which he plays.
