Indian cricketers are deliberately delaying the WADA code
by Crimson Tide on Sep 22, 2009 09:50 AM

As the dope test catches banned drugs taken months back, hence indian cricketers are delaying the WADA code as long as possible by giving the excuse of their privacy.

BCCI is protecting Indian cricketers
by Crimson Tide on Sep 22, 2009 09:40 AM

the cricket boards of Australia, England etc. perform regular dope tests on their players round the year.

In India, BCCI does no dope tests at all on Indian cricketers. Why it not does which other boards are doing ?.

It means BCCI is trying to protect Indian cricketers from something. In India, cricket is a money making machine for BCCI whereby they can enjoy at the cost of public money which comes to them through advertising.

Indian cricketers are not clean on doping. That is why BCCI is protecting them.

Why WADA for Cricket

ICC has its own Anti Doping laws then why should we go to WADA and my another question is when any form of Cricket(T20, odi, test) is not included in Olympics or Asian Games then why the hell BCCI should sign WADA?

ICC's Anti doping didnt prevent Asif from smoking pot. did it? HE accidentally got caught at Dubai airport security check for carrying it?

The problem is players take drugs and ICC's laws dont prevent it. It needs active monitoring. WADA has the expertise and have been doing this work for all sports. This helps as you don't want players that have taken some blood booster and come in and bowlfor 30 marathon overs and things like that!

BCCI will eventually sign. It takes only one or two drug cheats for the fans to loose faith in the contests.

ICC anti-doping laws are fluke. they are to show the world that ICC has those laws. the cricket boards of say Australia has better laws than ICC.

why not WADA for Indian Cricket ?.

there are many sports which are not part of olympics yet dope tests are performed on their players. then why not on Indian cricketers ?.

why are indian cricketers afraid of dope tests ???????

India will be be isolated by such acts

BCCI will never learn to respect the sanctity of rules applicable to all sportsperson across the globe. It is governed by set of people who consider themselves nothing short of God & wish to stifle all right thinkink people by sheer money power.Government Of India should also make this as prestige issue & make the ering cricketers sign the bond or threaten them with action including barring them from participation in international events. The legitimate changes to WADA rules can be made once these superstars are cut to their size.

Compare apples to apples. Other sports persons dont have such hectic travel schedules, security & privacy issues like the cricketers. Most of the Indians wouldn't recognize Abhinav Bindra sitting right next to them. I was once on a flight with Saina Nehwal & remember that nobody was recognizing her. I would rate her achievements the highest among contemporary sportsmen, yet if this is her recognition, how would you think a wrestler or somebody playing TT would fare? Can you imagine this happening to even the most obscure cricketer on the Indian team? The other Indian sportsmen are not LeT or JeM or Al-Qaida targets. Indian cricketers are a unique case & they should be treated as such.

If Christiano Ronaldo and Roger Federer can sign, why not the sachin's and dhoni's who are not even 10% as popular as them ?

it is the media which makes the players recognizable.

In india BCCI pays media lots of money to keep cricket on top & disdain other sportpersons.
