I read one interview before the start of one day series wherein England Captain Strauss said that "ICC should not change the format of One day matches as it will effect his team's chances of winning next worl cup"

Australia dropped again at third in ICC ranking!

This solely wins might not have any significant value for England but it again displaced Australia from first position to third in ICC ODI ranking!
It’s a tough competition now between top three teams as there is just a difference of two rating points between them. South Africa is on top place with 127 points, India on second with 126 and Australia is on third with 125 points! It’ll be nice to see who is going to improve their position in upcoming Champions Trophy.

Well said. Rarely do we see three good teams neck to neck at this close level...
Provides for some good entertaining cricket. Also notable is that all three have some vulnerabilities and keep swinging from dazzling brilliance to absolute surrender....
I guess the one which will show more steady performances, albeit less dazzling, will get to keep the top spot for the longest....
Let's watch out for the Champions Trophy.... :)

Hei Pseudo... I haven't seen any absolute surrender from Australia in the recent past. They at least keep fighting and to remind you they have tried to force results in a few TEST matches rather than opting to play for a draw. We need to respect the intentions for the cause of the game, right?

Only one good thing.........

We always know England is very weak ODI side in absence of K.Pieterson and A.Flintoff. Result was expected. But the best thing is in last ODI England exposed Aussies batting line up.
Aus bowling is up to the mark but batting is their weak point. They are very much dependent on M.Clarke.
Aus test side is still better than their ODI side.

Dude Anurag,

One freaky collapse and you wrote Australia off ? They won 6 games in a row in England after losing the Ashes. We have lost 2 games by a huge margin in the last 4 games.

Rathore saheb, CHeck the overall figures of the 7 ODI matches and see who topped the Batting List. They had a few centurions in deciding matches as well. You either suffer from a syndrome (onesided) or an absolute wimp.

_England_were lucky to win yesterday. Had it been 30-40 runs more, it could have been difficult for them to chase.

any team winning against asstralia is good news
by wizardo id on Sep 21, 2009 09:17 AM  | Hide replies

i will support any team that beats the pants off asstralians. the 7th ODI was interesting - the asstralians proved they capitulate just as easily like other teams, and they are not the undisputed champions. they are number 3 now. :P

its good to see teams rise up and down, instead of an asstralian monopoly. the only way the crasstralians can redeem themselves is by consistent good behaviour and winning. right now they still have a mighty stinky attitude.
