I really dont care if they r not signing it due security reasons since our players r slowly turning into millionares OR if they r really taking performance enhancing drugs...the fact is Our team is a weak one and not playing well at all.......

Why get the Govt of India into the picture?
by rajesh prajapati on Sep 18, 2009 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

WADA is expecting the govt of India to do what it has to do..... make the sports bodies fall in line! WADA has not involved any other govt of any country to clarify its' stand on the doping issue.... so why single out govt of India? Just because the BCCI and the ICC is not falling in line? In that case, address the issues raised by these bodies and settle/negotiate/dictate as the case may be.... but it has neither sought the clarification nor cooperation of other govts. when dealing with their sports bodies! Nor has it asked the Govt of India when they got the football and the tennis associations to fall in line! This is simple getting the govt of India to be the fall guy.... which it has got so used to being in any issue, whether it is terrorism, HINI, doping or environment!

The WADA has no business asking the indian government whether it agrees to the terms or not since BCCI is an independent body...period!

Independent body living where? As long as its part of India it has to abide by Indian government.

Who said that buddy? Do u follow cricket? The government cannot compel the BCCI to agree to all the conditions of the WADA as it is not funded or established by the BCCI. They need not take any instructions from the government apart from the sanctioning the tour.

ofcourse! we are humans! and the rest of the world is infested by prawns i.e. Aliens. Right? All countries around the globe have agreed to the terms & conditions of WADA and BCCI should not be exempted!!

In all these cases.... only the sports organisations of the respective countries agreed.... their governments were neither asked nor did the govts. think it necessary to tell their sports body what to do! WADA is unnecessarily politicising the issue by bringing the Govt of India into picture. It has to tell the ICC and the BCCI to fall in line without getting the govt of India. After all, it neither sought the Indian govts permission nor informed it about any of their activities before they got the Tennis, the Football and other assosciations of India to fall in line.... did they?
