i think it's a biased selection of players in the Irani and challenger trophy. Mr. Srikkanth is doing whatever he likes. He has not selected kaif, utthapa, dravid who are in top forms which they have shown in corporate trophy. We should raise voice against this selection basis.domestic tournaments should give the fringe players to prove their mettle but it's seen that it has just become a star show. Why even the Centrally contracted players are not included in domestic tournaments.Flop Players like M.Vijay, Balaji, Suresh Kumar are regularly being given chances to prove themselves but they are not showing a consistent performance.Players like kaif are playing so nice and he's discarded every time by Indian selectors.the selection policy of the Indian Selectors is not understandable.

I agree with you Naveen. Srikanth is a biased selector, He has ruined Kaif's career for good. Kaif's exclusion from Challenger Trophy and Irani Trophy is simply unexplainable. To the best of my knowledge Kaif is the most unfortunate cricketer in the history of Indian cricket. Indian public needs to stand and fight for Kaif's cause. Wake up India... an honest, sincere and dedicated player is deprived of a fair opportunity to represent India. Now Cricket Board and the Selection Committee are depriving Kaif of an opportunity to prove his worth. This is so pathetic. BCCI and Selection committee needs to be dragged to the court and striped off all their authority in the cricket board. And Kaif need to be compensated for 10 million USD from BCCI. This kind of penalty need to be forced on to BCCI so that in the future they don't deprive any deserving cricketer for their personal gains. I sincerely wish out of one billion Indian people at least one should stand up and file a strong petition against BCCI and Selection Committee and make sure Kaif gets the justice. I hope this message is published without any editing...

Challenger Series will happen at the same time of Champions League matches. So there is no players from RC, DC & DDD. Thats why there is no dravid, rohit, rp singh etc in challenger series.

Sachin fans u guys r missing the point

For my posting about earlier the replies i got indicated how rich sachin is,how i or any one living
in usa for a long time need not like him but u guys still r gonna worship him, some of u even went to the extent to say
he is god and u guys owe it to him for what he has done..so here is something that will wake u up

First of all no matter how rich he is,we (by we again i mention the genuiene cricket fans who got a better life living
in usa for a loooooong time)still dont give a damn about it and got no reason to worship him the way u all do.

Second of all he wont be able to employ us as he isnt the type who would do business in a country like USA,even though he has money he is the type who likes to do stuff the cheap way, like we all know how low he stooped when he begged for tax exemption for his car, instead of leading by example he tried to evade tax which shows what a low life he is when it comes to money..and he dont have the guts or class to do business,we all knew what a poor leader he was the way he lead the team twice and also the way he chickened out during Match fixing..
That princely compliment goes to someone like Saurav, the prince of Kolkatta,at least he can be mentioned highly..even then these guys dont intimidate or demand respect from us

U guys r basically obsessed with him, cause u got a very low self esteem and like to cling on to someone like this who has money, fame (even though that fame is limited to a very small circle called Cricketing circle, its no w

its no way a global fame),plus he hasnt done anything for the nation that u guys have to owe him,he isnt a scientist or a path breaking politician or a doctor or anything like that,he is a cricketer and cricket after all is JUST A GAME and not a religion like u guys project and make him ur GOD.

When i was a kid i too was obsessed with certain cricketers and get upset if someone criticised them,i was a huge Kapil fan,a Gavaskar fan at one point, then someone told me to enjoy the game that way u appreciate any great player and not just one, that opened my eyes to world class players who i loved and admired and not limited to my state alone, examples include

Richard Hadlee
Viv Richards
Ian Botham
Graham Gooch
Waqar Youins
Wasim Akram Saeed Anwar Inzi
Martin Crowe
Shane warne
Allan Donald
Brian Lara Ambrose walsh

and the list goes on,then i admired our own Bengal Tiger Saurav, but at any point i never go to the extent u guys go as to brand people as Jealous the moment they dont like ur hero or call them names or tell them they have no UNDERSTANDING of the game etc...that shows u have nothing else worthwhile in ur life,so retirement to ur hero or anything like that is DEATH to u all,as ur identity is gone,it is threatened the moment he is questioned of his greatness...all this is a indication of ur obsessive compulsive disorder..u guys r not cricket lovers ur just a hero worshipper under the guise of sports fans...

plus our nation had great concepts like Advaita etc where in everyone of us is reverered as a piece of god,but u guys put urself down and others down in order to glorify a man who is very ordinary with all insecurities fears and weaknesses like any mortal to a GOD..the word GOD has been so cheap in ur dictionary that u guys become laughing stocks....

So for heavens sake wake up,stop this obsession and fanatical behaviour, try to improve ur lives, only those who respect themselves will respect others,u guys dont and its quite obvious the wa u talk...

Good thing about USA is that a guy who lives here longer understands the basic psychology of life and has confidence self esteem that is way better than urs so he is able to understand everyone is equal in more than one level and not base their happiness on success or failure of another individual, what exactly happens to u all when he retires, his fame isnt gonna last 100 years like u all think, cricket is a tainted game, the ICC is a toothles tiger that has let go lots of culprits like Muralitharan,SHoaib akthar and match fixers etc scott free.the game is no way a sport in which any record is worth worship or adulation the way u guys give it

Even when he fails u guys try to find excuses as to the Umpires and Match refrees as racist etc and blame them, thats how desperate u all r in order to maintain the dignity of ur so called IDOL..

The game itself is becoming a joke every day with advent of 20-20 and once the new rule is implemen

The game itself is becoming a joke every day with advent of 20-20 and once the new rule is implemented in ODIS then see its gonna be even funnier....plus match fixing has never been eradicated, its funny every nation thinks their players are saints and other nation players are culprits..so this game is no way a yard stick to call the players as national heroes and make it sound u all owe them..u owe them nothing and wake up before u all become obsolete...

Cricket selection
by Dilip Mahanty on Sep 17, 2009 06:56 AM  | Hide replies

It is intriguing to find that a few promising names like Chetashwar Pujara; Ambati Ruyudu, Manish Pandey missing from the selectors' collective memory.
To resurrect Wasim Jaffer for ODIs seems a retrogative step.
India needs to look beyond the fab four(now three) who are in the sunset of their illustrious careers. In a couple of years the middle order will look bare especially in Test cricket. Poor Badrinath has always been the bridesmaid and is the only batsman on the horizon with a technique to play Tests. Yuvraj, a great ODI player, flounders against hostile pace or class spin.Raina is still suspect against the short rearing ball. Kohli has not been exposed enough to reveal his capability.M.Vijay is an opener who has to compete with Sehwag and Gambhir (also Jaffer). Uthappa has not been consistent. So who else can replace Tendulkar,Dravid & Laxman?
Where is the forward thinking of BCCI( Bereft of Common Cricket Intelligence)?
Why are Pujara & Ruyudu(who seem to have the technique and temperament to succeed in Tests) ignored ?
Does BCCI want India to sink to the current level of West Indies in a couple of years' time ? Who will invite India to play in their soil with a record like that? Who will sponsor the team? Time for BCCI to pull its finger out and think for a change!

Mohammad kaif, who was our future caption of india, but BCCI is doing politics with Kaif, why? because of he has no god father or Dhoni do n't like to kaif, if they guys taking RP singh, Raina, what problem with Kaif, full politics, kaif is very good crickter. BCCI or indian goverment wants to interfair and should select to Kaif.

Kaif is the worst batsman with an average of 32 and strikerate of 70. He better remain out of the current Indian team. You can still bet on Irfan Pathan who is a genuine allrounder but is affected by Dhoni politics
