We can always wish the Team India for success. But, the fact is bitter that they are hardly coming out as a deserving winner. They are totally inconsistent. See their pitiful fielding, see their ineffective bowling. So, how can they become deserving ??

Performance??
by Cric Fan on Sep 15, 2009 05:15 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni - excellent to good.
Raina, Karthick, Pathan - mediocre to poor.
Bhajji, Nehra, RP, Ishant - good, ordinary, ordinary, poor. Ishant should make way for Praveen. Zaheer is missed badly. Nehra is very inconsistent. RP should raise his game. Bhajji should control his wides outside leg. Overall, a mediocre performance that got them a trophy. Lucky.

Win the match & hearts
by harinarayanan subramanian on Sep 15, 2009 05:11 PM

India won the finals thanx to some extraordinary batting by Sachin and some excellent bowling from Raina and Bhajji. Othe bowlers seem to forget where the off stump was. They kept feeding the Lankans on the legside and went for runs. I hope MSD and Gary the coach along with BKV observed that and put some sense into the bowlers' heads. Such bowling and fielding will not be sufficient to put up a decent show in SA. Buck up & learn from the mistakes. ALL THE BEST FOR CHAMPIONS TROPHY.

Standard of Indian Team
by Gokul Sharma on Sep 15, 2009 04:50 PM

Very Poor in certain games and Excellent in certain games. The team is not at all consistent. By being the 2nd ODI team in the world, it should not exhibit poor fielding and ineffective, uneconomic bowling in the field. Expecting always a strength in Batting can neither assure a team to win a match nor it helps to remain in top rankings. So, better will be that Team India understands well the value of sharp fielding and effective bowling.

no consistency
by abhishek on Sep 15, 2009 03:00 PM  | Hide replies

"If not in winning games atleast we are consistent in something"

Like...

dhoni is consistent in making strong statements before the series,

Harbhajan in hitting some reporter or slapping a fellow cricketer,

Yuvraj in verbally abusing in front of TV cameras,

Sehwag in having fitness troubles and then hiding it,

Zaheer is consistent in staying away from the team,

Dhoni again is consistent in apologizing to the country after loosing the series(the way he did after 20-20 world cup)..

atleast somewhere we are consistent

Kya problem hai tereko? if you have some constructive criticism to make, please go ahead. If not and you want to be randomly sarci then why on a day when India won? How is ur sarciness going to help? Stay at home and have aan antacid - it will help counter all the acidity bubbling inside you.

Onie and SR hari...take a look at my constructive criticism and have some guts to digest the truth which is lacking in us:

Well played India..But was the team really deserving to win...When india lost the saturday's match(india lost the toss)...dhoni said in post match press conference that "everything went wrong in this match rite from the toss"...this shows that toss decides the fate for indians...if we win the toss we bat first pile up runs in a fresh wicket make records...and then display poor feilding and bowling skills and some how save the game by 30-40 runs...this is not the quality of a No.1 team.
We need to be more consistent and convincing. Dhoni is very smart in making comments but he is not smart enough to lead a team...Regular bowlers are failing badly..Ishant,R.p singh ,nehra are loosers...how come Dhoni fought with selectors for a player like R.P SINGH...Dhoni is depending upon part timers like Rainas, yuvis, rohit sharmas, ysuf pathans etc..what a waste of resources.
As a captian one has to be lucky...and dhoni is very lucky in winning toss for imp matches..But luck will not last wen u have to perform in a crisis..
Cricket is watched by 11 lakh fools , played by 11 fools, led by one lucky fellow and selected by 5 morons...long live indian cricket

MOMENTUM?
by Drax on Sep 15, 2009 02:29 PM

Rather than wasting energy in unimportant matches it is better to win the crucial matches..like the Indian win in the final of Compaq cup. It is better to lose an inconsequential match than waste energy in it and lose the final. This 'maintain momentum' business is pure hogwash.
