Raj Singh will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. 1. Removal of Krish Srikkanth from the captaincy of Indian national cricket team. He managed to draw the test series against Pakistan when most of the pundits & fans thought a whitewash was possible. Srikkanth managed to get the best out of Manoj Prabhakar and Sanjay Manjrekar. Was widely liked by all teammates for his quick thinking & friendly approach. Was removed for demanding better pay for himself & other team members. 2. Elevation of Azhar as Captain. Raj Singh wanted a haanji haanji person which Azhar was. I remember that during Azhar's tenure we hardly had any field placements taking place. The field remained unchanged throughtout the innings unless senior bowlers liked Kapil, Prabhkar, etc intervened. 3. Finishing the careers of Amarnath brothers (Mohinder & Surinder). 4. Allowing Sharad Pawar and other power brokers take over the reins of BCCI. 5. Sachin Tendulkar was not discovered by Raj Singh thats the biggest joke. He was discovered by his guru Ramakant Achrekar. Further Dilip Vengsarkar & Ravi Shastri managed to push him into the Mumbai Ranji team & he scored a century on debut. The rest is history. 6. As chairman of selectors, Raj Singh selected a so called team of 90's for the New Zealand tour in 1990. Except for Sachin & to a certain extent left armer V Raju, the whereabouts of others is unknown. 7. Selecting a joker & big mouth BishanSingh Bedi as team manager for tours of NZ & England in 1990
