World,s Coolest captain
by rama chandra on Sep 16, 2009 01:56 AM

whole world of cricket saw again an incidence that how Captain cool MSD managed the team to victory , without loosing his temper at any stage of the game. Hence proved again that HE IS CAPTAIN COOL in the cricket world.
It is a lesson to any captain (specially to PAKISTAN) to know how to behave on the ground and to his team mates at any drastic conditions...

Jai ho

Well, there is more than one captain in the list and one has to choose only one. Pataudi is the only one who can command respect from this illustrious lot. Sehwag & Ganguly are phenomenal, but their slots are already taken by others - (no one can take the place of the top 5 here).

It's a Shame that Australia, Sri Lanka and England are Short Listed. It's a really Shame that India and SA can't find a place in the List. Surely New Zealand Deserved to be there and win this Award. If not them then I would say it's a fake award which doesn't posses any value.

After seeing the hoarde of Indians nominated for best players, did you need to scroll all the way down to the Spirit section to figure out the value part?...... :)

No South African in the list
by Nathan Somas on Sep 15, 2009 11:34 PM

Isn't it a surprise that despite being #1 on both ODI and Test no South African is on the list. I would say that is not really fair.

and the first nominee is Australia? Is this a joke? The second is England. Those are the two worst sledging teams in the history of cricket

The list is in alphabetical order..... Australia is NOT the first nominee.....

BTW, the cricketing world and experts don't get driven by emotions (such as Kumble exhibited in the post match at Sydney).....
Umpiring howlers certainly have nothing to do with a team's playing within or without the spirit of the game...
Thirdly, kindly point out what have you seen amiss in the recent Ashes series and the 5 ODIs so far to cause your suggestion about England and Australia being worst behaved teams?.... ;-)

Surprise to see Australia in the list .... How is this possible? I hope it will not take away the award by sledging and confusing the panel in the ceremony

You sure would be surprised coz you are still in the "Sydney 2008" mode and there is no chance of you coming out of it anytime soon...... :)

The world has moved on, and the above nominations should hopefully open your eyes..... :)
