I tell you Y V shud care....
by Sam on Sep 14, 2009 02:15 PM

I've come across a good few number of posts questioning our concern on pity Ponti and his statements...thought of giving two good reasons as to why we care:
1. Well, I'd much rather see that son of a gun on the field than off it (yeah yeah yeah, I know he claims invalid catches indulges in foul play and all that crap, but, he's going to be a nightmare off the field - to be read as in Commentary box :) So, I'll chose the lesser of the devils any day and twice when it comes to Mr. Ponty)
And
2. Well, he'll open up an Academy somewhere in India the moment he retires...and many of us would have to engage in a courtesy called "Handshake" with spitten-germ-filled-nasty-hands :)

How about that :)

Cheers,
Sam

VV and SS

Good to see that we are so concerned about the well being of Australian cricket....... :)

BTW, how does it concern us whether Ponting tours England or opens up a restaurant with/without retiring?...... :)

Clarke has shown ample maturity to win first 3 One-day matches against England. So, Australia has found its captain. Ricky should now plan to retire.

Fact is that other teams have caught up with Aussies. So it won't be easy for clarke!

Bobby Simpson made cenuries in both innings in 1979 against India. He was 42.

Brian Close used to open innings for England at the age of 46.

Jaisurya still shines bright at 40.

Age is not a factor, its fitness and determination that matters for a player.

Even if they were number one, why should we care what Ponting says or does ..... especially regarding England?....... :)
