Banglaore is one rare decent indian city. Kochi is another.

I have travelled extensively in India. Wonderful people...but not so wonderful cities.

Bangalore is the one city in INdia where people are very nice, and they believe in work hard and play hard...nice pubs, bars, entertainment avenues, parks, sports grounds all over the city, cosmopolitan outlook and trendy youngsters. Everyone is comfortable speaking in English.

Kochi is another place that I find extremely nice...it has very good hotels and restaurants, and since I invest a lot in the hospitality industry worldwide, it really left me impressed to know that Kochi has the maximum number of 5 star hotels in INdia (when you include the under construction hotels). The best sea food in India is in Kochi. Again lots of colleges in and around Kochi, people are comfortable about English, very clean, honest folks. The one place in Inida where I see ZERO corruption!! In fact, the mere suggestion of corruption/bride invites angry stares from the person you try to bribe. I once bought an airticket at a counter in the Kochi airport, and did not realize that I had left behind a few 100 rupee bills, and in a hurry turned around to rush to catch my flight. The guy at the counter felt that I may have tried to bribe him. He immediately called me back aloud,"Sir, DONT leave your money here." I was shocked by the stern tone of his voice. A friend explained that travellers from abroad attimes leave tips becoz of the efficient service here, but Kochi ppl r offended about receiving 'bribes'

You are right, i was posted there for three months project and i have resigned from my last company after spending just 37 days for this reason only, Its actually Slum city , people come office in white suit and hawai chappal.

Even i have few friends from chennai, they all wanted to be engg just for one reason which is H1 visa and settled aboard.. I keep travelling due to my Job and i always end up meeting few tamilians aboard, sometimes i dont like time because of thier thinking...

I dont want to hurt chennai people but lets grow up and develop everything, Change you thinking of just going aboard,

And for Bangalore, Only one thing, you guys need to cleanup your mess of traffic inside the city.

Remember that Bangalore used to be called as honeymoon city in hindi movies.

you cant be a more idiot. What abt slums in Mumbai? The fact is more north indians are settling in chennai. the city that is safe and secure than any other big city in India. You are telling as though there is no malls / hi-fi places in chennai. dude - it shows your ignorance. we have the best talented IT people in chennai. hmm..anyways, dont come to chennai. we dont want it to become bihar :) we are all happy here.
