Role of umpires...
by suresh rp on Sep 04, 2009 11:33 AM

We tend to forget one basic fact: The umpires exist to serve the game, not the other way around. Peter Willey is quite willing to forsake the careers of players and negatively influence the outcome of the game, just to save the careers of umpires.

Today there are several sports which are decided by technology and external umpires. For examples, most athletic events are decided by athletics, because that is the level of stakes involved. Previously they were decided by humans, but not anymore.

So, it is time to move on. The umpire still has a role to play, but it is shrinking. Accept this reality and look for an alternative job.

What about aussie umpires who alway think they are right. Also steve Bucknor. (Replace B with F)

Such stupid umpires have spoiled career of many cricketers.

No wonder, once we have neutral umpires in place, australia is losing it out more oftenly then before. This tell you the story about those stupid fellows in black and white.

t20 pitch should be such that 20 wickets must fall in 240 deliveries then only bowler will save his dignity so also umpire if flat batting pitch like IPL then nerveous break down like sehwag, sachin is common
so pitch must be result oriented then only umpires will do the best
