Its was because of politics within bcci and kolkata cricket he never got a chance. Only one seat for kolkata batsman was there and it went to Ganguly due to influence.

He is just a ordinary player, you can find many more players with his claibre available in most of the region. He was luck enough to get many chances but he didn't capitalize it.

Initialy He was inclined towards Soccer more...So he happened to focus less on cricket I think...
Knowing the gavaskars thru close quarters i can say just one thing, these people will not even lift a finger unless they are paid for it. The senior has looted the government by taking land and flats. He is not here for the love of the game. Even if he is asked to comment on something he tells the reporter to pay him for uttering a few words. He shud be made answerable to people as public land has been given to him and he has not done anything about it nor has he returned it back inspite of the rule which states he should have built an academy in 10 yrs or return it to govt. Ppl wake up, go to his door and make him answer. Its our money

money and fame has destroyed indian cricket. IPL has done more harm then good to our cricket. everyone will find out later. with so much talent in our side we still can't be number 1 in any form of cricket. the cricketers lose focus all the time. everytime we have won something big (an important series, 20/20 worldcup, etc) we end up losing another series or tournament too. We should be the top team in the world right now but we not. before you know it we will be back in the 90s when we use to lose to every other team. even pakistan! WAKE UP GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, i think indian cricket is doin pretty gud these days. apart frm t20 world cup we have been winning almost everything. we have been moving up in the rankings and no team can reach no1 overnight. so plz get ur facts right before blabbering over here.. blogs r not meant for riting bullsh*t!!!

Some Sports dotn get enough Money, funding, fame so its a problem.. Some sports get money,fame so its a problem...Wht u Want...?? Or u just jelous that cricket players get good money nowadays...Remember there are players who died without money for medical treatment..Now if thsi sport gets money wht bothers you...?? And they are winning pretty good too...Some ppl always have to complain about something..isnt it..?
