No Place for youngsters
by Dennise Mathew on Nov 04, 2009 07:18 AM

India has been talking since long about Rotation policy but nothing seems to be practical. Nobody doubts the greatness of Tendulkarand his heart towards the game, But I feel he has to be in the team and play only crucial matches. He could sit outside and promote young players like Virat Kohli to play. He is more on the technial side when choosing shots and doesnt care to risk when sitution demands like sehwag who doesnt waste the balls.
As Dhoni commented about the senior players responsibility to play more time, I feel Tendukar has not shown justice or even to say I dont beleive One would think he is reliable as before.
So implement retation policy, save the players from injury and give more oppurtunity to players, instead of the young players sitting and eagerly waiting for the fellow players to get injured.

Re: Dhoni has no place up in top-order: Gavaskar

I have now stopped considering any comments from commentators like Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri or even Harsha Bogle. Any topic they start ends up with "Sachin Tendulkar ki Jai". It has been their talk throughout their commentating career and will be. Because all of these are Mumbaikars it gives a regional bias feeling. Have you ever heard Gavaskar praise any other India player like how he praises Sachin, even if that player has made match winning performances?
Ridiculous commentators.
Talk about the nuances of the game and the happenings in the game while commenting. Impart the technicalities of the game and their experiences as a player in similar conditions.
Who cares a damn about your opinions.
Stop saying "I think India should ...." or "I think should ....".
Let us view the match and make our own opinions and choices of heroes.
Don't impose your hero worship on us, while commenting.

Its surely a harsh comment but its not far away from reality. Dhoni is not fluent in any way and play sheet anchor role, which Sachin and Gautam Gambhir also play at top order. DHONI has lost his fluent best in last few months and only show aggression once he reaches to big score or else India is almost winning a match. He do not dictate the terms knowadays. But he is surely a good sheet anchor player and probably can come regularly before Raina.

There is no harm in accepting that DHONI has his limitations as a player and can not dictate the terms and wants someone esle on the other end to dictate the terms. He is well suited to 4 or 5 position.

Tendulkar should be allowed to bat twice. Dhoni should not be allowed to bat at all. His chance should be naturally transferred to Tendulkar.

Dhoni just played one match

After a long while Dhoni played well only in one ODI. Normally he playes like Cross-batted baseball. And gets out cheaply most of the times.

2nd ODI main uska matka lag gaya to khela.
Sunil you are the man of golden words you should not waste your speech on Dhoni.

He has 50 avg coz he bats lower in the order and thus has
35 NOT OUTS in 132 innings.

SRT has only 39 NO in 423 innings

Dhoni is a fine player, but let's not get carried away. In 6 matches in the toughest country, Australia, the highest score he managed was 37.

Dhoni should bat at No.10/11. If possible, he should not bat at all so that he does not threaten Tendulkars record or average. Gavaskar, Sir, your statement would make Tendulkar hang his head in shame.
