Without taking anything away from Warne:
1. In last 3 years, cricket has changed a bit thanks to 20-20. Restricting batsmen is more important than taking expensive wickets.
2. A legend like Warne could do both at ease. But for a spinner of a more general profile, aggressive tactics might backfire and at the end, contribute towards building a bigger total to chase.
3. More and more, cricket is becoming a team game. It’s true that a team's performance is the total of individual performances. But individual performances shouldn't be misinterpreted as individual glory.

Warne is talking about Test Cricket, not one day or 20-20 cricket and that is how he has taken 700 wickets in test cricket. Surely, he has a point.

You are right. But, restricting and attacking - both are required in any version of cricket. One spinner should have both skills, to be implemented according to the situation.

Bhajji is a typical example. He openly says that he is trying to restrict rather than flighting to take wickets

Its more like batsman attacking him than he attacking batsman. He is the bowler who seems to have been hit for most number of sixes in ODIs.
