Hopes, Lee uncertain for second ODI
by VIJAY ANANTHAN on Oct 26, 2009 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

Will see now it self india can win square the series or not? BCCI has to take take some immediate action on the players acting in advertisement. this is the only way to make dhoni concentrate on his captaincy instead of money making advertisement

indian top order is as good as ozzie..middle order needs exact shuffle according to availability. lower order need to train to hit 6 when required.
see johnson, hopes etc. they can hit 6 easily. only yuvraj in indian team can hit 6 and 4 at any time.
heavy training is required in this aspect.

common dude. this is not the reason. the fact of the matter is that the aussie bowling was far too superior than ours. if for some reason, we do not give away over 300 runs then this is our fortune only. our bowlers are worst. I do not blame our batsmen. they cant keep on chasing over or about 300 runs in all the ODIs. this is too much an ask. consider the bowling of aussie. at least 3 bowlers bowl over 140 consistently. they can bounce back in the game at any point of time once a set batsmen goes. this is too tough. it seems, we need to play at least 8-9 batsmen. what bhajji and pravin kumar did was exception and fluke. that would not be the rule for next 6 mtaches.

india can win this series.. but it must believe in it and also Dhoni needs to get ..electric shock treatment(minor)..by 12th man re: the runrate. He is like constipated guy at times (otherwise he is good in all depts)
also lower order need heavy training to hit 4 and 6s.
with sehwag, gambhir, virat, tend, dhoni etc ..india can win against anyside

who cares about ozzie team players ?
by Dev on Oct 26, 2009 04:26 PM  | Hide replies

we want to hear about indian team..india needs to shuffle its batting order.
sehwag-gambhir open, tend, virat,jadeja, praveen kumar, raina,dhoni,bhajji,and tail-enders.
either that or they have to get somebody instead of jadeja and raina. raina is always goin for low score while virat has played himself into indian team.
team has to reshuffle according to availability of Yuvraj.
even if Tend comes at 4 it is ok. team should not be top-heavy with both sehwag and tend at top..what about lower order ? Tend should play at 4.
Shuffle the team for ODI2..game 1 was winnable. Dhoni lost the game with his ..usual blind eye ..towards runrate. He is doing this EVERRRRRRRY TIME !
somebody needs to tell him that he should not wait till LAST over to hit !!!!

if yuvraj is not there ,there is really nobody to hit in slogovers.bhajji and kumar was a fluke show i think yesterday..while ozzie lower order has 3-4 guys who can hit sixes at will..ie hopes, johnson, ferguson etc

if you play for saving wicket.. you shall end up giving yours.
play your natural game and play strokes.
this is in teams intrest.
one can never win against aus using defensive tactics.

Dhoni has been the biggest let down since long, Yuvraj's presence was hiding Dhoni's weakness, now in his absence Dhoni is getting exposed, hope selectors take note of this.

i fully agree Dhoni these days finds fault with others when we lose it is better he concentrates and performs instead of preaching sermons. He cant be a dravid who plays well whenever we chase.

Good Effort from the Bowlers
by lancy mendonca on Oct 26, 2009 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

First ODI Match, It was a thrilling game because of Harbhajan and Praveen Kumar's effort to bring such a cliff hanger. Our Indian batsmen should learn from the bowlers for their outstanding contribution during the death overs which they handled and kept Australian fielders into pressure. If India loses such a close game, still for Indian spectators feel that it was a worth watching Indian Team fighting against Australia rather than losing with no fighting spirit. Get Going INDIA..and we need to win 2 Match in NAGPUR to level 1:1.

aussie needs harbhajan and praveen kumar for 2nd ODI since they were the most expensive and never look liked taking wickets.other wise they could have brought back Brett Lee and finished game.now both harbhajan and praveen kumar are safe for 2nd ODI

Yes Krishna, you are absolutely correct. These mindset should be changed. Harbhajan and Praveen's role is not to bat down the oder. they are bowler and they need to bowl and restrict the oponenet well

What happened with Indians
by Salman on Oct 26, 2009 03:15 PM

If some person which belongs to other nation/country will read this forum so they'll be laughing on us because we're targeting our heroes very rudely which isn't right as we've to respect them including all of our heores like hockey players and all other who are performing national duties.

As far as yesterday's match is concern, what happened if we lost 1st match there is 6 matches are still remaining and hope that our team will bounce back and our players will try their best to win this series but we shouldn't expect to win all matches of this series.

We've already dropped Dravid from team which is completely wrong and now we've only 1 senior which is Sachin Tendulkar and hope that his experience and all dedication of all other young players will meet the success and hope that dravid will return in the team and yuvraj will return with full fitness.

Please try to support our team as they need us because there will not come any outsider to support our team and we should do this.

India's loss at Vadodara
by rajesh prajapati on Oct 26, 2009 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

Bhajji and Kumar's fireworks for the 8th wicket stand at Vadodara for the 1st ODI only elivened a game which was going Australia's way right from the Toss and then first 90 overs! Otherwise, India had lost the match thanks to the failures of Dhoni as a captain and batsman and the opening pair of Sehwag and Sachin..... all three of them not batting as we have been so used to seeing them bat! Had they done so, the results would have been totally different as Bhajji and Kumar later showed!

Ever wondered why Bhajji and Kumar the batsmen had to do their fireworks?... Coz Bhajji and Kumar the bowlers were total flop shows.... as Hauritz showed Bhajji and Lee showed Kumar.... :)

dhoni's placi in the team
by nogen halder on Oct 26, 2009 02:54 PM  | Hide replies

dhoni should be dropped as dinesh kartick is there. dinesh is far better keeper than dhoni and also good batter. how long india will carry a captain who is totally incapable to handle the pressure and perfoming keeping his personal average always in mind.gilchrist boucher sangakara are far ahed of dhoni still not captaining there side.

bring Romesh Powar back
by suman saurabh on Oct 26, 2009 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

To me Romesh Powar IS far more better off spinner than harbhajan singh right now for the single reason that Romesh flights and turns the ball and always ready to attack even if he is hammered all round the park not ligh t bhajan who is bowling negative line to get improve his economy

Its not a bad idea to consider Ramesh Powar, Ohja as a second spinner.Though Ravindra Jadeja did well in bowling it would be better to go ahead with full time spinners than part time spinners considering the fact that Aussies are not the best players of Spin and Yuvraj a finising Batsman can bowl some handy spells to aussies. It would be better to replace Ravindra jadeja with Experienced Yuvraj and better to consider Sudeep Tyagi in place of a pacer.

YEs we can beat AUstralia only when we have quality full time spinners.Fast bowling they can handle with the ease on indian slow , dossy pitches.Either Romesh or Amit mishra should be given the birth becuase they can even contribute with the bat as well

Dhoni and his batting
by rajendra vora on Oct 26, 2009 02:34 PM  | Hide replies

Of late Dhoni has statrted playing defensive games in ODI also. Due to his poor form and lack of willingness to take on the bowler as he previously used to do is costing team India a heavy loss. Instead of being defensice he shopuld bat like he used to in his starting matches.

Dhoni should start playing his natural game rather to defend.Sachin,Sehwag,Yuvraj used to play their natural attacking game and bring the opposition to Back foot. They even make opposition to rethink of their strategy. He should get as no 3 batsman and play his natural attacking game.
