Conduct a written and practical exams for them by arranging many show matches and few real ones,see the replays and their performances,abolish the bar of playing test matches or first class matches---- we will have many Symon Tuffel. Cricket must learn from baseball. Baseball has a rigorous testing and weeding out process with umpires starting at the little league (kids)level and working their way up. At the Major league level Umpires are often given a CD after each match so that they can learn from their mistakes, also this is used to evaluate the Umpires performance. This means that if too many disputed calls are made the umpire can be sent down.
