Isnt this an unprofessional behaviour? If he knew that he can't stay away from home for long, why did he make himself available for the tournament? Somebody else would have been selected in his place for the tournament & perhaps performed better than the 17 runs that Mrcus scored in the 2 innings. No sympathy for a selfish person.

I don't know if I'm being partial towards our sub-continent players, but had this been a player from the sub-continent, there would have been a lot of media bashing along with opinions from the so called greats of the game (Read Sanjay Manjrekar) about ethics & professional behaviour & how somebodys mom could have played better cricket.
What trescothik did was definately not acceptable & he should be shown the door for domestic matches also for un-professional behaviour.
huh...my 5 year old daughter is better... i have a degree in psychology but never thought this would happen to a professional sportsman... also heard once graham thorpe went back from tour bcoz his wife was apparently sleeping with someone...grow up poms, just see Shane Warne
Somerset batsman Marcus Trescothick will miss the remaining matches of the Champions League Twenty20 and return back to England following recurrence of a stress-related illness.
My dear Rediff editors, why not you check your language before publishing? Saying "return back" is not the correct usage. Say either "return to" or "will go back to".
While we observe many using "return back to"..., it is not expected from Rediff also. Please correct.

Please.Even the English people has also accepted that language for communication and not for creating elite people. In the fast computer age, even the school kids dont have the time to study the grammer.Even most of teachers in the school also dont know the basics of grammer.

English people "has" or "have" accepted? And when wass that? Let us not take shelter under the premises that most of the teachers also do not know the basics of grammar. If everybody wants to duck and use incorrect language, this will be the plight.

Why are you using also often in your comments? Please try to know, when you could use "also" before commenting on others!

I say it as i see it. A professional player has to keep his emotions in check and not make a fool of himself again and again. If he was not sure of his so called mental condition he shouldnt have come to India in the first place.

An illness is never an invited guest...no matter whether it is mentalor physical. So, my dear bro Vijay, please think before you post.

I agree that illness is not a Invited guest, what you have said is quite correct, but one should be aware of the illness, if ur not then ur denying the reality. Last time when we went back to england he claimed that it was a case of food poisoning and tried to hide the real fact. If u cant face the reality than ur not a sportsperson, whether u have a bat or ball in hand.

Vijay Kumar God save from this affliction. Once it afflicts even if you are tiger you will behave like a timid mouse even while knowing fully well that you are tiger and not the mouse. still
