REVIEW OF THE BENCH STRENGTH AFTER CHALLENGER TROPHY
I dont think we have found any aggressive new talent in the tournament. Some players look impressive but over all we did not find a player in calible of Martin Guptil,Saeed Ajmal, Umar Akmal in our future teams.
1) Murali Vijay looked impressive but problem is that he did not have slogging shots, he is fit for tests.
2) Anirudha Srikanth - He has to slog like Jayasurya or like Umar to get into the team
3) T.Srivastava- Good player need to play more strokes as a opener in a One day match need to score more runs than balls he faces.
4) Badrinath- He is definately a test player
5) Wasim Jaffer- Got all the strokes in the world but should score more runs in first 30 or 40 balls he faces. Good test player could not give good start.
6) Y.Pathan- He need to practise and wait for bad ball to hit. He taking on all the balls.
7) A.Mukund- Got all the shots need to score more runs in first five overs to give good start.
8) S.S.Kumar- Played very well in one game.
9) S.Tyagi- He is definately had a chance to be in Indian Team.
10) Sreesanth- Will be part of next Indian team
11) Ishant Sharma- Time is over good bye.
12) M.M.Patel- Though he was taking wickets, he needs to practise aggression. His body language is rather lazy.
13) R.Aswin- He is most talented and will be in the Indian team very shortly. He got all varieties inlcuding carrom ball.
( This is only my views if my assessement is wrong kindly take it lightlY)

Another factor that we dont consider is temperament. Our domestic crciket has almost no spectator value and therefore not too much pressure. Its an altogether different game playing in India colours infront of 50000 people. Lots of talented domestic players fail to make this transition. Few days back, I read Akash Chopra saying something similar.
Imagine 4 situations :
1. You are batting in a domestic match with around 50 -100 ppl watching the match. You get a fulltoss at 120 Kmph and whack it for a 4 or 6...no big deal
2. The same scenario but this time its a Ranji final and this game could fetch you India colours. Even if you get a fulltoss, you'd think twice before trying to hit it
3. Now imagine its your debut match for India and you get a full toss in your first over. You'd be damn nervous playing a big shot this early
4. Now imagine its a world cup final and you need 6 runs of the last ball. If you dont hit it out of the park, India loses.
The only difference between scenario 1 and scenario 4 is the pressure to perform and this is where temperament comes into play. The problem is that our selectors ignore the temperament part and select players just on the basis of domestic performance.

yes ur right, Cricket is a psychological game, here we need guts & tempariment to play. Mere talent is not sufficient. You need to be mentally tough to play international cricket. How can a bowler of Ishant Sharma's calibre can bowl a short bowl outside off stump, even child can hit it for four. You remember during world cup 2003, Zaheer khan appeared to be pumped up, but he gave 12 runs in first over. That is cricket.

Many of the NZL cricketers e.g Fleming,Styrish, oram,Bond, Mills,Vitori, Mclum,Guptil etc are hugely talented & still gentleman. They are better than most of the overhyped dhoni young brigade in terms of talent & behaviour.
