Is cricket the only sport in India? Agreed it is loved by many but why has rediff not carried an article on the humiliation meted out to P T Usha? She almost won a Bronze in the olympic; she won a gold in asian games etc etc, but people continue to talk about cricket where our current team is being battered again and again in every tournament. Kapils Dev's team did not have stars like Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, etc but they had the will to win and so they did. Can the current team come out of a situation where they are 5 down for 17? I bet my ass they wont even have the will! As a one liner, i echo Usha's comment; Indian sports can never reach the pinnacle as long as non-sports people govern it!
Kumble's 10 Wickets against Pakistan should be credited to our umpire aswell! Even though Kumble as he and every other spinner always does against Pakistan bowled well, The umpire took atleast 3 or 4 of those wickets! Well i guess we only have to look at the scorebook! Kumble was a legend! Jai Hind!

The credit must go to Srinath and other bowlers as well. When Kumble was on his 7th wicket the other bowlers refrained themselves taking wickets.

yeah! that was very clever and thoughtful of the other bowlers. But by that time our umpire had already taken 3 wickets! LOLLL.

i don't know where u got ur facts and figures from mate! Kumble has a test average of 29.65 and ODI average of 30.89. Almost all other bowlers who have taken more than 400 wickets have a better average then that. Warne, Murali, Mcgrath, Walsh, Akram to name all have a better average!

STOP THIS CRICKET MANIA AND Hoopla.OUR Legend like P T Usha crying for accomodation and no mention of Abhinav Bindra,Vishy Anand and Leander Paes,These cheap Media ,insane fans talk only about cricket even the team is out of tournament with only seven team participating.Stop this injustice to other Indian Sports.Other wise days are numbered for cricket and its maniac fans and administrators

I am concerned when u told bindra. Accepted that he has done greats by wimning a medal. but then not everyone can take shooting a option. U can buy a gun but not bullets. so its a rich mans game like golf. Ans what amazes is have one medal and every day u are awarded in crores or land etc.

Srinath anyways knew he wil not get a wicket.. so he tried to put it other way.. Srinath & our now bowling coach Prasad were always pouplar for Runs donation & not picking up wickets
The BCCI is run by businessmen and as such tend to organize only IPL and 20twenty and ODIs since there is only money to be made from them.They don't organize TESTS which is the backbone of cricket since there is no money to be made .India has only played 3 Tests this year the lowest number in 25 years.

well said. just like ipl for t20 there should also be ipl for test cricket.... ranji players will also get to play with international players.. bcci will start ipl tests once someone start icl test.... bcci is only copying others idea from icl, epl football
Of course, all the three IPL teams can take the benefit of home support. But, ultimately the team which will perform better will win. T20 is not a mouse-cat show. A lot of pressure is always there upon the players and situation changes after each and every over. There is a lot of topsy turvy situation. Indians can support all the three teams of IPL. But, the league teams of South Africa, England and Australia are also much skilled teams. Any team can beat any one on that day.
