The Indian team played cricket the same way as the BJP fought the 2009 election and lost.

One loss can't be measure of success and failure

There is nothing to worry. If we play then we may loose also. And India didn't loose it badly.Indians only lost 1 match and every one start shouting against them. All those people who were and are failure in there life needs attention and only they shout. If there would be match against Australia. Then surely we would have in Semis. But forget it.And look further and we will again win.Because we are winners.Good job DHONI & COMPANY keep it up.And best of luck for future.Never listen to Dogs because they don't have any thing else other than bark...

It is not the loss that matters but HOW you lose.

Its all very well for you to quote statistics (only one match lost etc.)

You breezily comment that we would have won against Australia, as if rains deprived us of a win?

Anyway, I have formed a club whose motto is "India is the Number One cricket side since 1932, and the Permanent number one side since 1983. No one can ever beat us".

You are welcome to join. . . :)

Rightly said
Pragyan Ojha along with Harbhajan,Yusuf/Amit Mishra would have added varieties to spin bowling.
Against Pak our spinners gave too much runs because Mohd Yusuf and Shoaib Malik are good players of spin bowling and against them we had only offbreak bowlers like Harbhajan,Yusuf and Kohli against right handed batsmen. Thus these batsmen settled down well against our spinners.
Ojha,Harbhajan and Amit Mishra along with Yusuf Pathan would add to variety in spin bowling and may be Pak batsmen would have found them difficult to settle and might have lost wickets.
Again in Pak bowling, leg spinner Afridi and off spinner Ajmal gave 75 runs in 20 overs and took 4 wickets

whereas all off spinners Harbhajan,Yusuf and Kohli gave more than 130 runs in 25 overs and took 2 wickets
The team management,Captain and the selection committee is equally responsible.

by D talk on Oct 02, 2009 09:12 AM

Akram analyase the team performance, team leadership issue in this perticular series very well ,so Dhoni and co. must have to learn form the Akrams advices to improve the Teams performance.also selectors must have to consider the Akrams statements .

Dhoni n media
by Sunit S on Oct 02, 2009 09:07 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni gets credit for wins now he also deserves blame for 2 major shameful tournament losses. He has managed to pull shabby defeats with a great team. In this loss he has successfully put blame on bowlers so that he can get away (smart use of media n politics). Dhoni may be the best indian captain (as few ppl say) but this best is not good enough for average Indian fan. We require WCs, tournmanets, No 1 rankings, total domination like Aussies or WI of 80's. Ppl think high n aspire for more n push Dhoni n great TEAM INDIA(as media says) for more success n hardwork.

- Ha ha ha - I am sure you are a world champion in your are of expertise and completely dominate the world.

And how do you say Dhoni lost with a great team ? A team that didnt have Sehwag,Yuvi and Zaheer Khan and also played an injured Tendulkar ? Use your head moron. And yes, it is becoz of Dhoni that India has reached where it has today. Hiccups happen to the best of teams without their best players. Australia crumbled when Hayden, gilchrist, warne and Mcgrath retired and only after a year and a half are they coming around again.

OK forget abt world domination, lets first stop exiting in first rounds. Dhoni's team started well but now its coiling back to being ordinary. By using all my intelligence i can say that good run of Dhonis indian team is just a fraction of good run of Aussie team. Team didnt hv good players but still had potentially good talent who hv succeed previously. Good captain shud hv got better out of them.

Will be good to see India coming around again in a similar fashion... :)

Else deeply unfit players like Yuvi, Sehwag and Zaheer will keep make us crumbling... :)

BTW Australia didn't crumble as you so poetically depict. They were momentarily displaced from their ODI number one position for a couple of months, and have just been unseated from the Test number one status.

But you can go on claiming that India has reached great heights under Dhoni - after all we were number one for a whopping 24 hours.... isn't it?... :)

Harbhajan the Biggest Culprit
by Sunit S on Oct 02, 2009 05:59 AM  | Hide replies

Everyone is talkin about fast bowling but no is saying a thing about spin. I think Harbhajan bowled badly against Pak n Aus. He deserves a sack for sometime. He has on n off performance in field (he is something like Agarkar or Irfan Pathan now). His bowling average is 33 which is bad for bowler who claims to be most experienced and successful bowler in squad. I m sure there many spinners in India who want BLOOD and want break into team where the place has been reserverd by Harbhajan n Kumble for a decade now.

In fast bowler dept, I think Ishant should be dropped..we dont require his glamour or hair style if he is not bowling well.. Nehra should continue, RP and Praveen are hardworking bowlers n shud continue as well. Munaf must be given other chance, hope he has learned his lessons. but wht the heck find bunch of new fast bowlers from domestic competitions.

Re: Harbhajan the Biggest Culprit
by PS on Oct 02, 2009 10:21 AM
Actually Harbhajan is not that big culprit which you are talking about.
The big culprit is the Team strategy and Captain to select players for match.
Against Pak we were not having varieties in our spin attack.
Harbhajan,Yusuf and Virat Kohli all were off break bowlers hence Pak batsmen settled well since all were off spinners because there were no variations.
If Indian spin attack consisted of Pragyan Ojha/ with Amit Mishra, Harbhajan and Yusuf, then the conditions would be different.
It would be same like Pak having off spinner Ajmal and Leg spinner Afridi who gave less runs and took 4 wickets.
Harbhajan nowadays is always trying to bowl "doosra" which is a off break bowl but turns like a leg spinner.
In pursuit of bowling doosra,Harbhajan has forgotten his Pehla or original offbreak. This was reflected in the series.
Harbhajan should be warned by selection committee to bowl his original off breaks and not try to experiment more on bowling.

Harbhajan alone is not the culprit.
Selection committee,Team Management and Indian Captain is also equally responsible for not selecting Pragyan Ojha.

Dhoni has started micromanaging and the result shows
by GS on Oct 02, 2009 03:32 AM  | Hide replies

India is a good team with a substandard captain. I'm not even sure that Dhoni can be in the playing eleven. He is trying to play a role that does not suit the team at all. It is quite possible that he has lost his earlier ability of power hitting. But he lost that long ago, the only thing which kept him going was his so called captaincy but currently I believe he is micromanaging this team, pushing everyone to the "pragmatic" ways rather than rely on their core competencies that the team is just out of sorts with itself. At this rate I do not see India winning any tournaments, series is a different story, Dhoni and Kirsten go back to the drawing board, figure out the opposition and the pitch and come back and win a match, since most series are 3 based, they end up scrapping through the final one and hence picking up the series.
The only player that Dhoni cannot control is Sachin but he is battling ghosts of tournaments and finals himself which will be a problem for him even in 2011 world cup if he plays. Gambhir does not listen to Dhoni, but the thing his , he has been successful so he is able to do his own thing. No one else including Yuvraj or Sehwag has this luxury and hence the team is reeling under the micromanager Dhoni. Get rid of him, we will be better off to win world cup

You are right on dot. Dhoni is running show and keep his avrage healthy at the expense of strike rate. He puts pressure on other batsman to score fast and does sheet anchor by himself.
Now a days players alike Dilshan, D'villers, Yuvraj, Tylor, Sehwag, are winning matches for their respective teams. If sheet anchors are playing more the teams loose

The ICC doesn;t seem to think like you ha ha. The only Indian who has been appointed a world captain for both ODI's and Tests is Dhoni. Losers like you and dada supporters can cry your heads out - will not make a difference to any one.

It seems Faceless India is a hopeless Dhoni supporter. Among all the bullsheets he is talking he brought DADA from nowhere. The three players that Dhoni is crying for, i.e. Sehwag, Zaheer and Yuvraj all are nurtured by DADA, Sachin is Pre-DADA era player and a genius. What Dhoni's young bigrade, Raina, Pathan, RP, are doing?? In fact, Dhoni is enjoying over the hardwork done by DADA. And if I am not wrong and given the clout over these players viz Sehwag, Yuvraj and Zaheer, that DADA had, Dhoni never wanted DADA in his team. Result is here for all to see. Unless Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Zaheer, Harbhajan plays Dhoni's team is a big "0". So you the great faceless remain faceless and don't try to malign the image of a person who brought this new found aggression in the Team India.

Get off Dhoni's back
by vivek kadiyala on Oct 02, 2009 02:11 AM  | Hide replies

Akram in his time couldn't manage his own group of players, let alone the opposition. The infighting between Akram, Waqar, Aaquib et al have been well documented.
To have a failed Captain like Akram take a dig at Dhoni is a joke.
Get off Dhoni's back. He's been one of the best things that has happened to India

Appreciate him for what ? Sucking up to a section of the Indian media with a lot of Bongs who are still upset that Dada was replaced by Dhoni ? Hiccups happen to every team. But as someone rightly says - the biggest critics are losers themselves who could not achieve what Dhoni has achieved.

What dhoni achieved???? T-20 world cup. hahahahahaha. Let him wil a Test series against Pakistan in Pakistan. Let him reach the final of the 50 over world cup let him win champions trophy. Let him win a Test series against Australia. Let him play and draw a Test Series in Australia, England etc. Then you the biggest of the Fs talk against DADA.

I think Akram has never ever said bad things about Indians. He speaks well about players from subcontinent.

He was a good captain n had better record than most of the recent Indian captains in terms of series n tournament victories. Even in losses his team used to go down fighting unlike the Pak team under Haq or Shoaib Malik or Waqar.

I believe he is right on his comments on Dhoni's captaincy. Dhoni should pull up his socks n should manage the team properly, ofcourse team should respond appropriately too. Look at Vettori and Strauss, they dont hv best team but still many would agree they are good captains bcos they are atleast doin their jobs properly.

I have no issues with Dhoni individually. But he has issues. Captains dont put the team under the bus. Hes hand picked a lot of these guys. Nobody in India questions his losses anymore. He should handle things gracefully and admit his captaincy isnt great either. Pointing fingers elsewhere means you will never improve. You wouldnt have seen Mark taylor and Steve waugh say these kinds of things about their team however bad they were. Taylor almost won the 96 World cup with a mediocre ODI team.

Akram is a great player no doubt but as we all know, this is a time for him to come down heavily on Dhoni. The same guy said that Pakistan should learn from Dhoni's captaincy. Hmmmm, people become fickle so soon especialy Pakistani cricketers. If Pakistan had lost a match against us, they wouldnt have been spared.
Dhoni will be back soon. Game on guys!!!
