well we should award kanpur . a (3-4 days) test match venue only
by yash on Dec 01, 2009 07:33 AM

Test match does not require to produce result ,its a real cricket irrespective of result becuase where you can really enjoy bowling and betting. infact kanpur has set tradition toe finish the test matches in 3 to 4 days well we dont want those venues as test matches becuse poeple want to se 5 days game not the result.

Find out for this guy Shivakumar, he must be related to Srikkanth. There is no secret that every country makes the pitches that favor a win for the home town. What does he want to convey?

A pacer got the main wickets for India, not spinners, and spinners were there in both the teams. So there could not have been a hue and cry in any case. Use your brains. U sound prejudiced as well.

very true. i know a time when visiting teams used to say that indian pitches only offer spinners hope. why cant people get with the fact that india is called a subcontinent for a certain reason that its geology is different from rest of the world. making soil to play certain condition is hard to tailor make. it is not controlled by some algorithm or something to make it as you want at will. plus when you come to play in different country expecting to play as you in your home country is like going to an exam and complaining that the questions that are asked in the exam is not what you have prepared for.

the reason competitions are held is to challenge. in the absence of challenge competition is meaningless. so quit complaining. will ya

The only exceptional team which comes and defeats India on its home soil is Australia. They never complain about India pitches. The reason is obvious - They have pitches in Adelaide and Melbourne which are exactly like pitches like Indian subcontinent (India, Pak, SL and Bangladesh) and they practise well before touring these countries. Thats why even their tired and depleted teams are capable of beating any country on its home soil.

Yes, very true. Even then, i read Trevor chesterfield writing in his column severly criticing the groundsmen for producing a `draw' pitch and suggested that such curators should be fined by the ICC! I wonder where he will hide his face now. It is amazing how our media still keeps publishing such nonsense. It seems our media suffers from a sense of complex when it comes to a westerner!

If the match gets drawn, then its a dull pitch.
If it turns and the match is over within 5 days, then they'll say India prepared the pitch to suit themselves. They'll say it's not good for the game.
But if it has bounce and swing and the match is over within 3 days, they wont utter a word.
This is the double standards of ICC.
Only if the pitch has turn and match is over quickly as the loser Aussies and English batsmen cant play spin, the blame is on the Indian curator.
