Awards are given to other professionals too (all that you have mentioned army, police, teachers etc)...This is just BCCI awards and they can only issue awards to just cricketers. The problem is with the media which publishes and emphasizes on cricket and entertainment industries and won't cover the others disciplines in their headlines. Even players are much better than rest; at least they made their country proud many a times. Go and check what govt teachers do in schools.
