just played by 11 nations, the test cricket doesnt become a classical and adorable game of all time. Why not we support chess, hockey and other games? Just because they dont attract us? Its not Test, one-day or 20-20 -- Its all cricket !! Cricket itself is a threat to all other games in India. Australians are good in other games too but not the indians even when all the 120 crore population talking about threat of 20-20.

Cricket is well administrated compared to other sports in India. You talk of hockey, the ex-head of indian hockey after 12 years at the helm claimed that he had very little time.... Chess actually has good support... have you looked at how these sports are run? Can you blame it, the sports minister is a 78 yr old fossil. He is supposed to be youthful...

i am curious if you are uneducated. Look at what you asked. Did you see who they voted as number one? They were fair in praising something indian that they thought was good and saying they didn't like something else. Do they have to like everything indian all the time?

@northie
So since Clarke gained 55 % vote to replace Ponting and the same people voted
for the favorite top 10 batsman so its clear they would probably get rejected by a margin.Moreover this
is a poll voted by Sun herald readers So its seems you can't get the logic.

do you think they should vote for a non-Australia to replace an Australian. Who they vote to replace their captain by whatever margin is their business. They voted for 4 indian batsmen to be in the top 10 and lets add up their percentage (26 22 4 2) which is greater than 50%. hmmm....logic, i guess the great one isn't so great at it.

The 10 ten odi list had 3 Indians that fetched (26 22 3) and 2 aussies (22 11)
seems like they went with popularity of the 2 Indian batsman.
When you see the test match poll you see Ponting gets high 56 % with no.2 at meagre 11 % so that says a lot isn't,Bowler rating is a separate poll.
Besides there is no need to get excited over a poll of about 4000 odd people and using it as an excuse to show that they like our cricketers.

Why not?
by Kempt Killer on Nov 25, 2009 08:16 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever it is, Whatever it kills, but why should we indians waste time in watching a 5 day/1 day matches in which we are losing, instead IPL is better option, where we are entertained. Australians wants to prove and proved worldwide that they are real champions in these formats, so its obvious people over there voting for these formats. But as Australians couldnt do much in 20-20, Thus they would dislike it.
