Bhajji is extremely talented batsmen.. But just tired of dirty politics.. It is his chance of getting a hundred too.. He would have got plenty of them if he would have batted as an opener or top batting line up.. But he sacrificed his batting for this team.. Like a true Punjabi he only knows to win matches for India.. What a champion Bhajji is

Yaa last match Misra has produced wonders!! he too 10/0 and 10/0 in both the innings. masked sard named gurpreet crying far and high.
Its nothing but true Shewag is a careless batsman, he never cares what is required for the moment, best example would be the second innings of 1st test match @ Ahmadabad. Any chunnu munnu guy will know that it is required to play without loosing the wicket but this guy plays as if he is playing in a T20. Shame on him and i wonder how he is surviving in test cricket team. He needs to be kicked outside the test team.

he has crossed the 300 mark twice and he is the second batsman who has crossed this mark after brian lara

There are 2 ways to play in situations like second innings of 1st test match @ Ahmadabad. Either you play to keep wicket from falling with shutting down the shop, or play fast and try to reduce the lead quickly enough to reduce burden on other batsmen. Yes you can loose wicket without actually spending time with 2nd approach. But IF it works, it reduces the job for others by half. It is just the chance and Sehvag is best bet for such chances.
Sehwag has a 49.77 test average. That places him slightly behind Viv Richards (50.23) and ahead of Adam Gilchrist (47.6). I am mentioning those two because they have similar style. He is even ahead of Injamam (49.6)

Nobody can replace Sehwag. He is in a league of his own. The bowlers of the opposite team piss their pants when he is batting. He intimidates the bowlers and treats them like school kids.

Sehwag is a rare Test opener. Noboday takes the game away from the opposition on 1st session of Day1 as he has done many times. He has shown his ability to play well in all pitches - in Aus, in NZ, in SA and even in SL when the rest of Indians failed.
Indian fans has given so much hype to sehwag, They regarded him the best opener in world. But the fact is that he is far behind the other ODI openers like gayle, hayden, gilchrist, jayasuriya and gibbs.Just look the avg number of innings taken by other main ODIs openers (all power hitters) to make 50 runs: Dilshan 3.4 Hayden 3.34 Gilchrist 3.45 Jayasuriya 3.3 Gayle 3.4 Shane Watson 3.7 Gibbs 3.64 SEHWAG 5.2
After going through this analysis, you will come to know that sehwag is at the last position in terms of scoring 50 scores in international matches. He can be a entertainer but cannt be considered as a reliable batsman. Also he is the most inconsistent aand immature openers in the world 2day & the main reason behind this is sehwag's immaturity, irresponsibility and habit of poor & ridiculous shots. He doesnt bother whether India wins or loss. he always play for his pleasure. Even in crisis situations he throws his wicket. Example 2nd test between IND-NZ Test series (sehwag captaining indian team). It was almost impossible for India to win that test match and the best result for India was DRAW. but for this, Indian team has to bat for 7 sessions (210 over). So India was requiring sehwag to stay at the wicket as long as he can. But he didnt show the patience and got out playing unnecesary shot. He needed to stay at wicket 4 atleast 200 bal but his inning lasted for just 12 bals. It shows his bad habit of playing regardless of situation he did same against Lanka.

It's not about averages. He has been out many times in the 40s as he doesnt care about records. He is someone who has hit a six to reach a double and a triple hundred. The fear factor is immense among the opposition bowling unit when Sehwag is at the crease. It has made the job easier for other Indian batsmen.
33.98 is a shameful average for an ODI opening batsman who always has 50 overs to play, with no pressure of lost wicket before him and still averages so poorly...KICK HIM OUT OF THE TEAM SO HARD THT HE NEVER COMES BACK TO PLAY GULLY CRICKET ALSO

yes even Jayasurya has an average of around 35 and same goes to Yuvraj ,so your argument is nonsense.

Currently, 80 out of 100 times sehwag natural game has resulted in indian defeat. Indians have given so much hype to sehwag. we all used to say sehwag is the best opener in the world in all three formats of the game. But if u see the performance of Gayle, McCullum, Watson, Dilshan in ODIs and T20s in last 12 months, then you will come to know that sehwag is far behind them. They all play according to the situation. At present, sehwag is the most irresponsible and immature opener in the world. Sehwag performance always rely on luck.

Wow gaurav, ur last comment amazes me. I did not know that with luck u can score two triple hundreds and centuries all over the world! Talk with facts and not mere dislike for a player!

in the last 28 matches Sehwag has averaged more than 50, this includes the 6 matches against australia in which he averaged only 23. if u compare it with Mccullum(last one year) then he is way ahead of him. Overall also he has an average that is more than that of mccullum. Dilshan in the last one year has averaged lesser than 50. Overall his average is 31. U need to get ur stats right before making comments :)
Re: sehwag's natural game
by Jay on Nov 23, 2009 09:19 PM
Sehwag has to play his natural game. In Tests as an opener his records put him next to only Gavaskar. He is generally successful in Tests, people often do not notice that since there is a lot of ODIs and T20 matches. String of 150 Test innings tells his class. In ODIs of late he is failing more especially when cramped by bowling close to the body.

Only Indian Batsman to score a 300, that also 2 300s...also fastest 300 ! Runs scored fast, in any match means that the game will go for a result if not anything...
Re: Re: Re: sehwag's natural game

he thinks in terms of winning hte matches for India and its because of this attitude only that India has many a matches in the last few years. Saving a test match, i think that he did in the second innings of Inia Australia test match.
Re: Re: Re: Re: sehwag's natural game
by ramakrishnan s on Nov 23, 2009 09:11 PM
yes, also in the test match against england, it was sehwag's aggressive atsrt which helped india win that match when they had to get over 350 runs. Sehwag, to me is a grt and an unsung hero of indian cricket who rarely gets accolades which other indian batsmen get simply because he does not play the conventional way!
Don't keep complaining abt his technique! if he is not having good technique he wouldn't have survived in all forms of the game for nearly 10 years! It might not be the best of the techniques but his hand and eye co-ordination is the best! he can score runs on any wicket against any attack which he has already proved!
he is only player from india scored twice triple hundreds...if a batsman is not technically sound how can he can he scored.... dont comments on sehwags... he is a natural player with lot of confidence to play shot to any kind of blowers....build up innings is the middle order responsibilities...
