Tendulkar records
by PS on Nov 21, 2009 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

I have noticed one thing that whenever Tendulkar makes a century, people start quoting remarks that he is playing for himself and when Tendulkar turns flop, people tell he is useless and must retire etc etc.
What about other players in team?
Cricket is not an individual game.
Dont expect Tendulkar to win each and every match single handed for India.
Why to criticize and blame only one player when other players in team fail to perform.
Basically players like Yuvraj,Dhoni,Raina,Pathan and Jadeja are just good finishers(and they very rarely play a long inning). These finishers plays on base of scores made by Sehwag,Tendulkar and Gambhir so you notice that if any two of these 3 batsmen fail in ODI to perform while chasing,India has lost that ODI.
So it is expected that first 3 batsmen must perform well.
So now if Sachin is scoring(or according to some haters,he is playing for records),you must notice that which players are not performing or responsible for team loss.
Why not criticize them?

No doubt, that The match is saved by Gambhir, Sachin,& VVS, When srilankans are not playing Cricket ( By doing Negative boiling )and there was no chance of Sri Lankans victory any body wants to complit amilestone. He is 100% right.

When R.D has declared the Ing Sachin ia very near to his double ton, and there was no chance of winning the test, R.D could have waited for another half an hour.

But the cap is best judge of situation

Tell me who is greatest
by Junior Don on Nov 21, 2009 11:24 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin: Around 90 centuries in international cricket.

Ponting: Around 65.

Bradman: Around 30

Records are like mirrors in cricket. They don't lie.

Plz don't talk of averages. They are just one insignificant aspect. To judge a player you have to look at all aspects. If bradman has good average against mediocre bowlers, it counts nothing. I have seen body line clippings. Bowlers were pathetic, bowling like villagers.

One good difference between bradman and sachin

Sachin played in the developing and developed forms of the cricket

Bradman played in the Under developed form of the cricket

SO Bradman period was the initiative for the development of cricket
sachin is under huge comments and huge pressurised situation

Handling the most pressurised situation is the ideal position to judge a good player

Agree with you that Don Bradman is greatest
Because in those days when there were no helmets, armguards etc still he has faced furious fast bowlers, attacking fielding and scoring tripple centuries against those bowlers was not a joke.
But now times have changed. In those days most matches were played between England and Australia. The other teams were just beginning.
Now,there are many good teams and also playing for 20 years continuosly is not a joke.
So Sachin is also one of the greatest batsmen.
My point is that if Ponting is considered as greatest batsmen then why not Sachin also.

Sachin not great
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Nov 21, 2009 10:41 AM  | Hide replies

Yesterday Sachin once again proved that he plays only for personallandmark. Else when Sri Lankans wanted to stop the match, Sachin went and asked Sangakara to continue so that he can complete his century. As soon as Sachin reached his ton the match was stopped. Earlier also when Dravid declared India's innings Sachin was upset & he openly made negative remarks to the media. This shows what. Everyone can say easily. But the real feeling can be seen only thru one's deeds. SO Sachin was crystal clear yesterday with his deeds. So all those Sachin fans don't talk anything high.

You fool people are blind supporters of Sachin is very clear. Else how do you say all these. forget it and just watch Sachin's landmarks. Don't count on India winning or loosing. Only Sachin hitting. Great. Great. Keep it up. You people are even greater than Sachin.

Realise one thing, 90 overs of batting in a sunny day, concentrating each and every ball is a very tough job. But then we should appreciate that spirit and patience to get a century, against negetive balling tactics even if it is realised that match is already saved... Considering his age SRT is still in thirst of runs. How such a cricketer should be allowed to retiere. Let him play and other players should support him to win matches for India since cricket is a team game..! proud of you SRT for having you for 20 years of cricket..!

I think you have not seen match carefully.....Last 20 minutes of match and Lankan bowlers were continuosly bowling negetive. Most of the deliveries were outside the off stump..situation was so bad that umpire came in picture and called Sangakkara.....and then he came down to sachin and had a chat with him.....

So do you think club cricketer Bradman is great?? Or that average cricketer Ponting is great??

Sachin around 90 centuries

Ponting around 65 centuries

Bradman around 30 centuries.

Records don't lie. They are mirrors in cricket.

Why you think Bradman and ponting are great?? No Indians think Bradman or ponting are great. You must be OZ.

When 15 overs are left in a match moving towards a draw, captains have the option to call it off, but its not compulsory.
If any batsman is near any personal landmark, he is allowed to achieve it.
Also one very important thing is that Sachin refused to disappoint the spectators who bought tickets to see him scoring a Century.
Had the match been called-off early just for the satisfaction of Sangakkara & Kumar Chakra, thousands of spectators present in the stadium & crores of Indians & crores of Sachin fans all over the world would have been disappointed.
