Come on Amit, nightwatchman. U should be able to get a century also. If Mishra can't get a century in this pitch then he never will. At least Mishra can make amends for 203 runs he conceded. As for U Laxman U can score a pair in this batting beauty and create another record for yourself. After that please retire.
SriLanka dropped Mendis for the first test while India still plays out of form Harbhajan and Ishanth. It is high time India rotate players and give rest to to players like Harbhajan, Mishra, Ishanth, Sehwag in that way bench strength is also tested.
Indian team was doing so good without a fulltime coach for over a 10-12 months we had just a manager, even Shane Warne once suggested that there was no need for a fulltime coach.
I feel except for Dravid, Dhoni and Youvraj none of the others played the first innings well. Most of them got out getting bowled through teh gate or by playing on to teh stumps which was very casual. When Dravid got out in the first innings Harbhajan and the other tail enders should have played sensibly which never happened.Hats off to Dravid for that wonderful innings and good support from Dhoni and Yuvraj. Otherwise we would have been all out under 100. And then regarding the bolwing I feel Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan shoudl be dropped and we have to bring Sudeep Tyagi and Pragyan Ojha shouls be their respective replacements. Zaheer Khan was good but unfortunately he received no support from the other end. Ishant being so tall is not able to extract any bounce whatsoever is really a shame. He has lost his pace and hence should lose his place. Sudeep Tyagi is bowling consistently at a good pace and he should back. Amit Mishra too was bad but again he has to be given more chances till he matures into a godd bowler. Harbhajan could not turn the ball at all and he is becoming a big burden. Even in the one day series he went for too many runs. It is high time we drop him and ask him to prove himself in domestic cricket.

Nope.. He means they need to fill a form before they go out and bat ;) but for Bhajji its his resignation form.
all the teams except INDIA have fast bowling all-rounders. Selectors should make a pool of the boys who shows the temperament of becoming fast bowling all-rounders. Selectors need to look at the following:

bro, something is better than nothing. now u understand why i have mentioned these players
Re: Re: Re: fast bowling all rounder

U should have mentioned your name also Gaurav. It would hardly make any difference. They are all the same. Once selected they stop performing. Irfan is the best example. Irfan was considered an allrounder. Look what happened. He even forgot how to bowl.
after reading through all the comments i just have last thing to "Alls well that ends well"..lets expect Gambhir & Sachin n dont forget the wall no 2 Lax to play the heroics and save the pride...Ankush Gambhir
Never ever and the tradition will continue. Murali the chucker is finished. Indian batting line up is too strong for mediocre SL bowling. A draw is guaranteed. SL got greedy and did not declare with a 150 run lead and a little bit more time.
It wud more humilating if we loose to Sri Lanka compared to the loss to Austrlians.I dont know why the selectors r persisting with Shewag. He is playing like its his Daddys team...play as u like no matter wat the situation is.This headless JAT is ruining indian cricket.Sack Shewag for playing in the manner he is playing.

actually they r more persisting with ishant. at least sehwag has performed in the past 7 years. but persisting with ishant is too much.

Kishore, u r doing right by questioning sehwag's temperament and committment. I think sehwag plays only for his own pleasure just like each and every teen used to do in gully cricket. he never bother about whether india win or loss. Look at the statement he has made after the completion of day 4,he said "I think all the batsmen should try to stay at the wicket as long as they can". how can he make this statement? It will be better if he follows his own statements.
