people—who expect or rather demand from Sachin to win every match and WC individually in a team sport, where collective efforts from all members is important—would have similar high expectation from themselves, Indian would have been a world leader by now.

SACHIN THE GREAT
by Vijay Shetty on Nov 15, 2009 03:40 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin is great because he never played for record but played for the country. He got chance to lead the side twice but declined, nobody else would done this, but he did it since he loved the country and playing cricket for the country is his first preference.

I am bit disturbed since media many times critisised him which affected his performance otherwise he would have now completed more than 50000 runes ODI/Tests.

I remember one Incidence when opposite team needed 7-8 runs to win the match in last over and nobody was ready to bowl the last over except Sachin and he did it and won the match for India.

Is he not great?

Vijay Shetty,

I think his injuries--tennis elbow &back hold him back for about 2-3 years.

It looks like he is back in his best condition and batting as was before injuries.

Who is the greatest
by Ashish Kumar on Nov 15, 2009 03:29 PM

It is futile to say who is the grteatest unless the intention is to isult someone. While I admire Sachin's talent and contribution, I am unable to belittle Sunil Gavaskar by callig Sachin the greatest ever. Then there were others too, like Vijay Hazare, Vijay Maerchant, Rahul Dravid. They all have their respective strengths and weaknesses just as Sachin has own. One of the greatest- yes, the greatest-no.

We have seen the greats like Gilchrist, Viv richards, Lara, Hayden, Saeed Anwar, Andrew Symonds, Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, and numerous others. Sachin has no class compared with them.

So you have lots of free time to criticize others. What's your achievement apart from a bad critic?

Best Batsman in The World
by A Singh on Nov 15, 2009 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

Best Batsman in the World can come only from India, because only an Indian can be burdened with a billion expectations.
Ponting may be scoring more runs than Sachin, but he cannot be s good, because population of Australia is significantly lower than that of India.

How can you link batsmen's quality to population? Nonsense.

Ravi,

As you may also know, validity of any statement depends on the intellectual level of the person making that statement, in addition to how much knowledge, information and that person has.
Do no except sensible comments from people like Ravi.

And you please stop commenting at this site. Learn from all the great commentors at this site who had written Sachin off whenever he doesn't happen to score.

Hehehe
And why. If any of the member of current team can score even today more than him? Just being 36 years, he should stop playing circket. It is not justified. Bring another one like him, he will quit without any arguments. Anyhow, he is the expert of this art and knows well when to quit.
