Sachin and Indian cricket
by onkar bidwe on Nov 14, 2009 04:06 AM  | Hide replies

Dear all,
a match is not won by single player only it not tennis, its cricket other 10 also have to contribute, Australian win every game not just becuase ricky score century, at the same time Hussy score fifty or clark score fifty or Watson scor(earlier there were Haydon,Gilcrist and Symonds) also bowlers take wickets Johnson or lee, or Bollinger or Watson or t=other bowler take more than 3 wickets at economy less than 4 so they win, in In India Sachin is bring India to the finals and fail in final dur to out bad luck(No body purposefully fail at least the player of sachins talent).

In India bowlers give away runs at rate of 7 per over and other batmen fail and we drop 3 catches a match and give away 50 more run due to poor fielding.

how do you expect to win , sachin is so great people expect him to make win in spite of all these bad conditions in the team.

it 11 player game in Australia all batmen have avg of above 40 and bowler have average of below 25, fielding is awesome , what about India?

Sachin has won atleast 54 matches for india !
by sunil kumar on Nov 13, 2009 11:40 PM  | Hide replies

question 1 )Critics ask:
When ever selfish tendulkar scores a ton india losses ?
FACT:india has won 32 matches out of 45 when tendulkar has scored a ton which is a whopping 71%

Q 2)oh is it ? but this useless player should have scored all his 32 match winning centuries against weaker teams like bangla/kenya/zim?
FACT: His tons have helped india win 9 times against australia.list is as follows -
australia--9, new zealand --5, srilanks -5, kenya -4, zimbabwe-4, west indies-3, south africa-2, pakistan-1 & namibia -1

Q 3) : All most all of his match winning centuries were scored batting first this choker cant score a run while chasing under pressure ?

Fact: Tendulkar has scored 17 tons while chasing a huge score & india has won 15 times ( unbelievable 88 %).some of his most popular innings while chasing , the one against aus in WB series downunder & the one in sharjah , the innings against pakistan in wc,

Q 4)May be this was long time back ,BUt in recent times whenever he has scored a ton we have lost ?
FACT:India has won last 4 matches out of 5 when he has scored a century ( 80%)

5 ) UNFAIR CRITICISM:
All his Man of the match awards are useless , we end up losing like we did against aus recently ?

FACT: Tendulkar has won 60 MOM's out of which in india has won 54 times (90%), & 8 times he got MOM award in the finals ( Hold ur breath 100 % success rate , all were won ) . APart from this he has be named man of the series 16 times

Young Sachuu angered by the remarks against his batting/captaincy/managerial skills has decided in consultation with Sunny the Great, Robi Shastree etc..that hereafter he will open in the TESTS to prove his great technical skills and will come down at No-5 in ODI to finish the game for India unlike he has done for the past 20 years. He is a good player, not a great player. Great players players change course of matches and win tournaments just like Ponting.
Indian won 85 % of time when Tendulkar made centuries but similar is the case when Ganguly or Dravid has made centuries.

:) Ponting is the worst example you could have given. Australia is perhaps the best well-knit unit that performs as a TEAM. :)

If Doug Bollinger hadn't taken a five-for, Ponting wouldn't have single-handedly won anything. :)

If Glenn McGrath, Warne, Hayden, Gilly hadn't played well, Ponting couldn't have achieved those results that he boasts of as a captain. :)

When Ganguly or Dravid made centuries, India no doubt won. But what makes him special is that Sachin is still making those centuries. And India will still win despite the doom and despair you tried to spread in your original message ("..but no major Indian victories" etc.)

Sachin:- Facts and Myths
by sachin on Nov 13, 2009 08:44 PM  | Hide replies

To kids like forrest gump, Sunil Kumar, Arpit Amin, LG and other immature kids

Sachin:- Facts and Myths

Myth 1) He has scored around 17,000 runs and broken all records
Detail:- He has played around 440 matches, that comes to around 30 runs per match.
Note:- When a batsman remains not out, his average increases thats why Sachin's average is in 40s

Myth 2:- Sachin is god, there is no parallel
Detail:- Its all about time. Lets see how many people remember him in 2020. Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev were as popular in their time but no one remembers them today. 'People don't read yesterday's newspaper'

Myth 3:- He is the greatest
Detail:- Its criket, not lawn tennis where one person can be great. From 1989( Sachin's debut) till 1996, India was never even amongst the top 3 cricketing nations. It was only after Ganguly and Dravid added to Sachin, that India reached great heights

Myth 3:- Out of 45 centuries, India has won 32 matches.

Detail:- Same goes with Dravid, Yuvraj, Ganguly as when they have made centuries, India has won 85 percent of the times. Also, whenever Dhoni has made a century, India has always won ( 5 times :- 100 percent)

Note:- No one here argues that Sachin is a great player, but calling someone the greatest is childishness and what about others. What about Dravid, Kapil and Ganguly's contributions. Are they ordinary?

Fact:- Sachin is the worst captain India ever got. We lost 67 % of the matches.

Jaiho

Sachin is the player on whom many did research to findout why he is not great. All these people simply accept any other player is great. I can show all the players are worthless with this kind of analysis.
Example: Lara performed the best when the team lost
Miandad didnt have even one century against Mighty WI team
Bradman played only in England and Australia pitches.
Arvind Dsilva,Lara and Miandad are the the worst captains.
Ganguly is a big plitician and scored centuries against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh etc.His highest score was against weakest team of Srilanka.
that itself says he is the greatest.

@ Sachin,
Agreed your point of how average is calculated in cricket.

1.Out of436matches, Sachin batted 425 times so that becomes 17178/425, counting NO's it becomes17178/(425-39).

2.Yes,average increases but did you notice out of the 39 NO's sachin has in his career 21 of them came when he opened the innings, that means he either remained NO by reaching the target or innings was interupted cos of rain or any reason(which is no fault of his). I believe we should give him credit for playing more than 30 overs or so.

3.Out of 39NO's only he has been NO only8 times against so called minnows (zim[3],Kenya[3],Bermuda[1] and Bangladesh[1]

4. Out of 436 matches he played, he opened 313 times only with an average of 48.16 P/M and 41 times he batted between postion 5,6 and 7 , where scoring runs is difficult. So usually at those positiosn we look for innings which makes an impact and not gives high avg s.

Dude, understand Cricket is a team sport and tennis is not(leaving doubles out), for a team to win we need two units(batting and bowling) minimum to click. can you name 3 genuine match winning bowlers who perform day in and day out. I can think of only 1 i.e kumble in 1990's.

When ppl regard Sachin as god,I think they don't literally mean it they infact look for inspiration, look @ the younger blokes raina's, kohli's and co they get inspired by him, simiarly there will be millions who take inspiration from him.

Can u tell me in your life time how many ppl have u ins

Thats the point, I think if Gilly or Hayden played around 440 matches, they would also make this many runs.
Sachin was never dropped however bad he played so he had that luxury as well.
Look at this series, after and before making 175, he always got out cheaply. He will play the next big knock now in feb or march.

When Ganguly shone after the great comeback, still he was ignored! But Sachin failed one after the other, and he is retained by Sena lobby. Gavaskar will not utter a sintgle word against Sachin even when the latter performs poorly. So much for fair commentary. Sachin was (is no longer) no doubt an excellent player but there is an age for everyone. Now in an interview Sachin says he will play next ODI international World Cup.
