Mishra is a good replacement for Bhajji
by Nikhil Shah on Jan 19, 2010 01:55 AM

Well with all the stiff necks and back spasm's we do have excellent replacements for the batting as well.
It seems like Karthik effectively cannot overcome Dhoni's loss and a better batting WK is Parthiv Patel. Based on merit and performance rather than looks here are the several possilities.

For Dhoni's replacement:

Parthiv Patel 159 innings @40.85

It may be time for the selectors to also look at how long Laxman can carry on. There are possible middle order heavyweights in the domestic scene with great fielding skills. So for Yuvraj and Laxman the several possiblities from the FC scene they are:

Rahane 58 innings @65.44
Pujara 72 innings @56.00
Murali 54 innings @55.01
Sharma 50 innings @53.52
Tiwary 58 innings @52.76

The cut-off point is a minimum average of 55 and a mininum playing experience of 50 innings, that way if a player is lucky initially it will cancel out in the long term. So the longer he has player the better the average. A batsmen's average tells you at what level he is playing the game. It gives a chance to the selectors to assess if he needs to be persisted, if he has an excellent FC average or not.

With a combination of age, sample size and fielding skills, Rahane is the top contender for Yuvraj and Laxman, the next contender is Pujara.

I think we need to start the process with Yuvraj, Dhoni and Laxman. The stiff necks and back spasm's are becoming chronic.

What a joke

It happens only in India. After such a dismal performance vs Aus, we take pleasure of giving such fool award to Bhajji. We all know how poor he has been as a bowler recently. He has just forgotten art of taking wickets. MVP my foot. India is great.

Since last few days Bhajji is not in best of the form, He is unable to make impact on the game. He takes few wickets only. And what yesterday Riky said nathan hauritz bowled better then Bhajji in the series i am convinced with him.

Headley
by nigam kumar on Nov 13, 2009 11:09 AM  | Hide replies

yesterday I saw the news that headly has turned into a terrorist. its really sad that once a great cricketer has taken this path. He may be falsley implicated but if it is true it is really bad for cricket. It must be investigated why he took such path leaving his glorious past.

Agarkar
by nigam kumar on Nov 13, 2009 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

all fast bowlers are too expensive and donot even take wickets so agarkar should be called
as our main strike bowlers. he is wicket taker.
His records says so

It looks a ploy..

I think this is one other form of weakening the team by feeding them ego-bloating pills. Okay, agreed that Harbhajan is MVP. How come Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni come second and third. Is it because they are wealthy or they endorse many brands and have many girlfriends? It seems a joke of the millenium... God only knows on what basis these people go on rewarding the failing and ailing cricket players.
