Daring captain
by Sunil Kumar on Nov 07, 2009 08:57 PM  | Hide replies

I think we need a less famous and more daring person to sport the captains cap. I think Harbhajan would be suited for it. As he would be grounded like Sachin and become more mature and perform better with responsibility.

Had Tendulkar been out 5 overs earlier, it would had given Jadeja, Praveen to settle and play their shot.Till Tendulkar got out, the asking rate was always above 7.5/over.

Playing till 48th over Tendulkar made sure that the tail will never be able to put the required 8 runs/over.

So Tendulkar won with personal landmarks, his sponsors must be smiling over his innings. But the team lost.

Ponting will never mind Tendulkar scoring 175 or whatever, till his team is winnning. Because Australiasm believe in winning matches, not in personal records. They succeeded.

I wish people in India become more matured and dont burn effigies when cricketers lose and build temples when they win.
I saw a tennis match yesterday on tv played in Switzerland and the spectators even applauded the other player just as much as their own countryman who was playing against him.
Can we expect such behavior from Indians in the next 50 years ? I dont think so.
I'm not trying to say I'm better than anybody else but this kind of behavior pisses me off no end. You can see similar indiscipline and indecency on the streets in big cities.
When will we learn ?

Ppl r more excited n passionate in games like football n cricket rather thn badminton, tennis, etc. so appreciating visitors is easier in few games thn in others, hw else do u explain so many ppl losin lives in EPL? What is wrong?

This team has shown strange qualities. When Sachin fails every other player shines but when Sachin bats well all others fail. May be Sachin is a mismatch for this team!

True. He benefits from setting personal landmarks and earns huge money. But his team loses.

The second and third ODIs were won when Tendulkar did not perform.

Team won T20 WC in 2007. Tendulkar had opted out of the tournament. But lost miserably in 2007 WC and 2009 CT. Tendulkar was in the team then.

selection of playing 11
by RAMANAND GOPALAKRISHNAN on Nov 07, 2009 08:51 PM  | Hide replies

THE SELECTION OF PLAYING 11, ASSUMES GREAT SIGNIFICANCE FOR THE GUWAHATI ONE DAY MATCH.IT IS A DO OR DIE SITUATION FOR INDIA. THEY HAVE TO WIN THE MATCH TO STAY ALIVE IN THE COMPETITION.AMIT MISHRA SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN PLACE OF MUNAF PATEL. MISHRA IS A ATTACKING BOWLER AND DEFINITELY HE WILL DO A BETTER JOB. AND BRING VIRAT KOHLI IN PLACE OF JADEJA.FOR THE FIFTH BOWLER SLOT YOU HAVE YUVRAJ,SEHWAG AND RAINA AND EVEN SACHIN FOR THAT MATTER.SO MAKE THESE CHANGES AND HOPE THAT U WIN THE TOSS, BAT FIRST AND POST A HUGE SCORE.CHASING IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT AND MOST OF THE TIMES YOU WILL FALL SHORT UNLESSS THE TARGET IS A SMALL ONE.

Eyah bad luck, He dropped a simple catch of Marsh at first place ...And then batting failure and u cal it bad luck...well I feel Sachin is bad luck he tried so hard for victory after fielding 50 overs, batted almost those many and still no support from otehrs (barring Suresh).....Dhoni needs to improve his skills behind wkts...

This proves
by Aryan on Nov 07, 2009 08:48 PM

that India never plays as a team and even to this day it depends on individual brilliance.
Any well set batsman with avg intelligence would not have played that suicidal shot that the best batsman in the world adopted.
It was just a matter of 6 rpo and these two could have easily done the job.
This only shows that some ppl no matter what only play for records.
That is the reason why opposition fancy their chances even when India has only 1 run to get for a win.

Throw out bowlers
by bhanu prakash on Nov 07, 2009 08:47 PM

I think team india doesnt need any bowlers...give yuvi, sehwag, jadeja, sachin and bhajji to bowl 10 overs each and sachin can start with medium fast with new ball...any ways specialist bowlers also giving 350 and these people will also give 350 so that we can select 4 more batsman and try to win batting

I don't watch cricket
by Raj on Nov 07, 2009 08:46 PM  | Hide replies

I have saved many hours by not watching cricket. It's so sad to see 1000s of people throw away valuable time watching cricket. It's quite pathetic.

Lot of losers, unemployed youth, people with no purpose in their lives, fat uncles who have no sex life - form the bulk of the population that watches cricket. It's such a sorry sight to see people crowding around or a TV/radio set in shops and other public places trying to catch the score. LOL...fools of the first order.

These people are the ones who worry about paying 20/- extra in a phone bill, or have issues clearing the car loan...sad bunch of losers. Their lives are being wasted and they don't realize the value of the several hours they have wasted.

One of the basic questions I ask when I interview people for my firm is whether they enjoy cricket and how much of it they watch. The ones who get all excited about it are never recruited. Because their focus isn't on self-development, but on a life of leisure and mindless enjoyment. Some of these cricket crazy fools haven't taken a holiday in years. Little wonder this is one unhappy nation.

This pot-bellyed captain thinks he can fool the millions becuase he is pocketing millions from backdoor through the modeling he is doing for many a brands. I think we spend time to watch cricket that is competitive and not because anyone is famous or is earning riches.
