You may remove tendulkar from that list.Tendulkar is defenitely not a match winner but the other two are real match winners for their team.Let us not build up further tendulkar fobia ( created by money crazy media) and start thinking logically.

Lara has not achieved anything for his country apart from his personal milestones!!
I think CHANDRAPAL AND SARAVANAN have won more matches for WI than Lara!!!!

Earlier people used to talk of Gibbs, Underwood, Bedi, Chandra, Pranna, no doubt they were great bowler. It does not mean chucklig, spinning and swinging of the ball. What matters is skill what to be done to the bats man and when and what to do now makes a bowler big. Simply watch very slow motions of some Mohinder Amarnath Bowling.

big spinner
by veerapuram dharan on Nov 07, 2009 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

the reason y warne attracted so much attention is that if he spins the ball on earth, it would land up to the next planet..such was his revolution where no other leg spinner in the history of cricket can boast of..the closest spinner who can spin the ball prodigiusly would be murali, but,hes a cheater with legal backing..i think, india has loads of talent stagnating in villages but one needs to unearth them and groom them instead of playing politics in selection...

Who said Indian Politics does not have Spinners? Warne's spinning balls landed (only) on the Nearest Planet but our Politicos take you for a spin & throw you into Another Galaxy, Another Dimension altogether; it's like a man going from the "Living World" to the "World of Death" (literally).

ofcourse Warne will always be No.1
by abdul nazeer on Nov 07, 2009 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

Im watching cricket for so long, never has seen an impact what Sharne warne leaves, I have seen starting from maninder singh, sivarama krishnan, mathews, hirwani, ayub, saqlain, qadir, kaneria, harbhajan, giles, swann and ofcourse murali (murali does have an impact, but for me, he is always a chucker) Shane warne has been absolutely tough for the batsmen, he turns the match single handedly, and everytime. He is my top greats in bowling dept. alongwith mcgrath and wasim akram. You are such a genius Warnie.

For commenting you have to get in honours syllabus. Pitches are not same now otherwise youngsters could not be spinners in a team.

Warnie replacement
by P SUBRAMANIAN on Nov 07, 2009 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, he is right. We have Harbhajan, who despite his non-performance with the ball is persisted in the team thus depriving other good spinners like, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha into playing. Cricket Austaralia can do one thing. Let them take some goods spinners from India, make them play in Australia in their domestic cricket till such time that he is eligible to play for Australia after which let them play India in any International mathces. I bet those spinners will do wonderfully well. I am also sure that by the time they are eligible to play for Australia, our own Harbhajan will be still playing for India

Re: Warnie replacement
by hullabol sachin on Nov 07, 2009 03:28 PM
yes you are right...bhajji should be kicked out from the team immediately and youngsters like mishra nd ojha should be given chance, but your pathetic selectors and petty politics and the short shightekness of our team and its captain has always taken us and will continue taking us only one way *DOWN* what the hell we are still celebrating sachin's century without shedding a tear about how and why we lost the match and possibly the series...!! bhajji should be dropped and dhobi should be replaced if team india is to have a chance of winning the next world cup in 2011..!!
