He is a wonderful batsman too. I saw him batting in many innings and wondered why he is sent at No. 9 in the batting order. He bats like a regular batsman like Hayden.

Ian Botham of England was a bowler first when he joined the Test team. He was not a fast bowler but an awewsome swinger in both sides. Within 2 years he proved himself as a dependable batsman and promoted to bat at No. 6 from No. 10. He turned out to be one of the greatest all rounders with classy batting style. He hit many centuries and double centuries in test cricket. Kapil Dev and Ravi Shashtri too had similar climbing.

Later he used to open innings for England in ODIs with blistering batting style.

Johnson seems to be following Botham's footsteps.

He is best ODI bowler in the world currently. It is rare to see him wicketless in any ODI.

But open the inning with him is a very bad idea. Aus can use him as a pinch hitter when needed.

He has been thrashed by all the batsmen of India and others giving away alost 8 run s per over. No wonder he wants to find his place as an opening btsman.

Good ambition Mitchell but it would be wiser if you concentrate on your bowling as you are being very wayward in this series. Try not to become an all rounder. See what happened to Irfan Pathan.
