Kashmir is NOT as unsafe as we think.....
by NOBODY on Nov 03, 2009 03:57 PM  | Hide replies

The situation in Kashmir has been improved a lot. I recently visited kashmir and I was amazed to saw that there is no curfew like situation there. There were many tourist moving freely without any fear. Though, there is securitymen in every nook & corner.
So, we shouldnot make wrong notion about Kashmir.
When 26/11 happend last year in mumbai, every foreigner started thinking that the Whole India is become unsafe and start fleeing away, but we know that the situation in India is not that bad. In the same way, kashmir sitaution is not that bad.
Service team should have been gone there. If they have any security concern, then they should request J&K govt to tighten the security rather that avoiding going there.
What type of message we are giving to foreign world. if we start thinking that some part of India in that dangerous place to visit than what will foreign people think of India. They will even avoid coming India

Give up Kashmir
by sumi simi on Nov 03, 2009 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

Only a couple of days back prepaid mobile connections banned in the J&K & now Services refused to play in valley. The logic is the same security concerns.
So it is better for New Delhi to leave the people of Jammu and Kashmir at the mercy of its neighboring countries because despite claiming J&K as its integral part it is treating the people of J&K as second class citizens to hide its own incompetence.

How did u fel when the Pandits were ethnic cleansed and made homeless refugees? Did u se th ruckus over Amarnath land in the valley. The fact is that we are at war with anti national forces in Kashmir! Why risk the lives of Services' cricketers. As it is our soldiers are facing hardships and false acusations like Shopian and the kidnapping/murder case of that boy killed by his own clasmates in Kashmir

sorry to say but I am also a hindu but what message we are conveying to the world.
Tomorrow Home minister is visiting J&K to review the arrangement made for the return of Kashmiri pandits. So if the situation is so bad then why double standards.. services can't play in valley but government wants to send the KPs back. answer why these double speak...double standard.

Sumi-It is not about Hindu or Muslim at all. The militnts dont spare Muslims too-e.g braveheart Rukhsana. This KASMIRIYAT bu11 cr@p has been oversold too long. And as far as the Kashmir issue is concerned, the only solution is the way Russia moved against Chechnya or China against the Uighurs

If there is any problem there is solution also. If u are advocating chechiniya like operations then why not against naxals. if there is a bad boy in your class it is possible for you to punish the entire lot.
Problems are being created by the governments & our governemnt lacks a clear policy to remove alineation among the people it it is kashmir, orrisa, jharkhand or any other part of the country.

Thats not the way to treat Kashmir
by kiran kumar on Nov 03, 2009 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

Services is at fault on how they handled the situation. Individuals in the team having apprehensions can be justified. But Services pulling out of the match cannot be justified. If they wanted to satisfy the individuals with apprehensions, they should have talked with BCCI and JKCA and work out a practical solution for this.

What BCCI did is very right.

Anna!! Don't exhibit your foul-mouth here. What Services did was completely wrong. If they had problems, they should informed well in time not pulling at the last minute. They knew that they were slated to play in Srinagar. So they could have brought the matter to the notice of BCCI earlier. This is complete unprofessionalism exhibited by them. The question is not about security problems in J & K but the way Services handled the matter. After all hardly anyone comes to view Ranji ties. So they could have asked for security instead of forfeiting the tie at the eleventh hour. It's just like we prepare for the wedding and everything is ready but on the previous day bridegroom refuses to come for. What we gonna do? Just keep quite and moan? Don't we raise our concern? Services should have informed about their pull our well in advance and not at the last minute.
