Poor Selection of Players!
by Amit Kalyanpur on Nov 06, 2009 09:19 PM

Year 2009-
It's time we had 11 players who can bat decently. We need 4 really good bowlers and 3 batting alrounders. We need to try more alrounders in Test & One-day cricket. Abhishek Nayar, Irfan Pathan, Romesh Pawar, Ajit Agarkar have been tried and tested several times, but none of these has managed to keep his place in the squad for a long time. Do we have any more alrounders in store?

Reminds me of the Madras test India lost to Pak
by Cric Fan on Nov 06, 2009 12:47 PM  | Hide replies

Then too, sachin played magnificently with a back problem troubling him. Yet, once he got out, the rest of the bozos could not even score 20 odd runs, that too in a Test match with no time limit at that stage. Also, the same against Zimbabwe in the 99 world cup. Once Sachin got out, the rest could not score evn less than 10 runs to win. I think India lost by some 3 runs to Zim in that match. Tells us something about our mental make-up and over-dependence on stars, who twinkle once in a while. Sachin's shot yesterday reminded me of Misbah's shot when he was caught by Sreesanth in the first T-20 WC final.

Very true man, Virat n jadeja r not able to score 50 how many chance they have been given, i think we lack of gud alrounder irfan khan can be the rohit sharma is an amazing talent he saves easy 10-15 runs in feildings n great talent with thrash d stumps n make d run out wicket count just he throws his wicket by playing cross d bat but he is a gud cricket talent should be in team he can be a match winner
so my indian 11 are

Aussies fielded magnificently
by Cric Fan on Nov 06, 2009 12:40 PM  | Hide replies

Aussies fielded magnificently and some the catches were breath-taking. Ponting was amazing in the field, so were Voges, Hauritz and the rest. Thats what pays when your bowling is being taken to the cleaners. Also, all their top order clicked in the Hyd match, unlike India's. Is there a lesson for our guys there? Now onder Aussies have been at the top for so long. Their second 11 is better than most first 11 teams.

How many Centuries has Dhoni hit outside of India in one-dayers?
by Talisman on Nov 06, 2009 12:38 PM  | Hide replies

Exactly one. That too against Pakistan.
No century in Australia. None in Srilanka. None is S.Africa. Yes. That is correct. None on England.

Aus inexperienced players show more responsibility than our guys
by Cric Fan on Nov 06, 2009 12:37 PM  | Hide replies

One thing clearly noticable in this series. Aussies after being hit by injury to top players have really shown guts and gumption, with the youngsters like Bollinger, McKay, Voges and others like White putting up their hands and playing responsibly. Watson, who was slammed by Pravin and Bhajji in the first match, has improved by leaps and bounds. Whereas, our guys play irresponsibly. They cannot handle the pressure. In the Hyd-bad match too, they had victory in hand and threw it away with some terrible cricket. It's difficult to criticize Sachin after his record score, but he should have stayed till the end, playing percentage shots instead of that stupid low %age shot he got out to. No need for that, with a 20 year old and the tail enders left holding the can. The tension got to Jadeja and the rest.. I did not see the early part of Indian batting, but it is amazing that Yuvi, Gauti, Sehwag, Dhoni all got out to low scores on this belter!!! Whats wrong with these guys???

tension did not get to jadeja he was just being stupid.... he was run out in the previous match and he had to be careful.... if he cannot handle the pressure of run a ball then why is he there in the team.... he was just trying to be over smart and thought he would finish the match himself.... nothing justifies running with the ball hit straight to the fielders....even the aussie team was inexperienced but they handled the pressure.... rohit sharma would have been a better bet anyday...

worst cricket...
by polumahanti praveen on Nov 06, 2009 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

Reasons for losing easy win matches:
1.lack of proper communication b/w players
2.Team selection was random and keep on changing each match
3.throwing wickets by playing reckless shots
4.putting more pressure on the lower order batsmen
5.losing wickets by runouts
6.No proper guidance from the skipper

Even in winning 2 matches also the above were observed. But onlky highlited when matches were lost !!!!
