A simple question to everyone especially ghostyyy................
by Sachin best on May 29, 2009 03:29 PM  | Hide replies

Which is more difficult for a Cricketer as batsman in ODI's(50-50):

1.Playin as a opening batsman from 1-40 overs.

2.Playin as a middle order batsman from 25-40 overs.

3.Playin as a lower middle order batsman from 30-50 overs.

4.Playin as a lower middle order batsman with tail enders from 40-50 overs.

5.Playin as atail-ender from 45-50 overs :-)

25-40 because players at this stage have to adjust themselves according to the situation. They can't play their natural game at this stage. Like sometime situation demands a partnership, sometime power hitting etc.

Wow so according to u best players are those who do the following things:

1.They dont face swing ans seaming conditions.

2.They come when the field is spread.

3.They come when singles are easily available.

4.They come to bat when there is no need to take risks.

5.They come and bat only for max.35 overs and are considered better batsman than those gr8 players who play for 40-50 overs as opeining batsman :-)

You asked about ODI only. In ODI even Irfan can open. In test to get sucess consistently at opening player must need ability.

Really, I never knew that Adam khor Gilchrist was an opener in test matches, So basically he does not deserve Golden player of tournament in IPL coz he opened in silly T20 matches in IPL :-)

i think 25-50.. while pressure is there..difficult condition..scoring rate more than 6 per over..batting with tailnders..its a grt pressure..

opening is nothing come and blow up...no pressure..

Michael Bevan is a bowler.????????

Agreed that he was mostly not out and used to play with tail enders in those useless last 10 overs but that does not mean u should make him a bowler :-)
