CAN THE PAK. CRICKET BOARD DO THE BASIC THINGS. CAN IT PLEASE ASK THE BOARDS OF ALL CRICKET NATIONS IF THEY ARE READY TO PLAY IN PAK. REDIFF PLEASE ASK THIS QUERRY TO ALL THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES, SO AS TO PUT AN END TO ALL THIS MESS AND HAVE A GREAT WORLD CUP. GIVE PAK BOARD SOME COMPENSATION WHICH THEY DESERVE, WITH NO FAULT OF THEIRS.
Despire bomb after bomb going off even as recently as yesterday & Pakistan as a nation-state teetering on the verge of spontaneous implosion, the PCB continues to exist in a sweet state of denial! Instead of working with other cricket boards to ensure that the Pakistani team gets opportunities to play wherever & thereby demonstrate that that they've got their national pastime's best interests in mind, they're spending all their energy & resources on looking for technicalities that would actually enable them to profit from all the chaos & instability infecting their country right now. At this rate, the PCB's credibility is beginning to resemble the ZCU (Zimbabwe)'s who have also been accused of a lack of vision & a complete disconnect with the players. Whether or not the ICC followed proper procedures before deciding to move the WC matches out of Pakistan is besides the point. The PCB is ignoring the perception everywhere that Pakistan is in no shape to play host to anyone at present. In this context, it's naive to argue that things could improve by 2011. From a planning perspective, it's ridiculous to expect the organizers to wait until December, 2010 before deciding if matches can be held in Pakistan & it's not as if the PCB is unaware of this. The cold hard fact is that the PCB has failed to ensure the safety of players and fans. Against this backdrop it would be a travesty of justice if this Board gets rewarded for its incomptence. Simply put, it just won't be Cricket!
