20-20

MR.Haroon Lorgat ITS TOO LATE 2O-20 IS GOING TO TAKE OVER IN FEW YEARS OVER ONE DAY. FORGET ABOUT TEST MATCHES. FEW TIPS FOR YOU TO KEEP ONE DAY AND TEST MATCHES ALIVE.
1. KEEP THE RATES OF SEATS LOW.
2. FRIENDLY VENUES, AND PROPERLY ORGANISED STADIUMS, NOT PACKED BUT CARE ABOUT THE SPECTATORS(IN INDIA SPECTATORS ARE LIKE AS IF THE BOARD IS DOING A FAVOR TO LET US WATCH US THE MATCH.)
3. PUT NAMES AND THEIR CAP NO. ON THEIR JERSEYS AND MARKET THEM.
4.LET UNDER 20 CITIZENS ALLOW FOR FREE IN TESTS TO WATCH.
5.MOST IMPORTANT LET THE PLAYERS INTERACT WITH THE SPECTATORS, WITH SOME COMPETITION, OR SOME OTHER GIMMICK, MAKE A BOND WITH THE SPECTATORS AND THE PLAYERS.
6.YOU ARE ALL TOO LAZY PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND THE SPECTATOR, WILL ALWAYS LOOK FOR SHORTCUT TO EARN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

ANYWAY, GOODLUCK, DONT EVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE SPECTATOR, EVEN WATCHING ON THE TV, TOO MUCH CRAP, ON TV ABOUT CRICKET NOWADAYS, PEOPLE ARE NOT FOOLS, GIVE US A BREAK, CRICKET IS MORE OF A BRAND RATHER THAN A SPORT TODAY.

HOME AND AWAY TEST SERIES!
by Jayan Charles on May 29, 2009 01:26 PM  | Hide replies

Why cant a test series have a home and away matches , like if we have 3 test in a series then one match can be in home and another in others home of the oppositions and maybe the third can be in a neutral venue (or maybe we can have 4 match in a series).

PREFER T20 OVER ODI
by Jayan Charles on May 29, 2009 01:21 PM

T20 should be promoted and ODI should be stopped,Test should be continued and promoted. The Reason to start ODI was to make Cricket more entertaining and that is also the same reason T20 came into being. If T20 bring in more crowd and if it is better entertainment, why shouldn't it be preferred over ODI?.

we cant change the rules of the game just because ur wife feels amused, can we?
what sort of logic is this? thisis like saying i will change 5 5 to be 9 because my 2 year old son can count only single digits.

Each game has its won importance and audience. Every kind of cricket will get popularity no matter Test, OD or T20. Its job of ICC to plan and schedule the tournaments properly.

whether i like it or not T20 will overhaul test and ODI over a period of time!
in the generation to come restless people would love to have shorter versions with quick results than longer versions without any result!!
i am not surprised if in a few years T10 format becoming popular!!

T20 should win over ODIs
by Agrahara Gopinath on May 29, 2009 11:58 AM

ICC should think in terms of popularising cricket globally thro' T20.Test cricket, let it stay as it is.But T20 should replace most of the ODI matches. If ODIs are played, reduce it to and accomodate T20 matches.Since test cricket schedule is untouched, the game will not lose its santity. But ODIs can definitely be reduced to a large extent.

T 20
by nisha singh on May 29, 2009 11:54 AM  | Hide replies

Why restrict. Infact T 20 must be expanded. Many non test countries must be accepted in T 20. This will make cricket more popular and acceptable. Imagine like football T 20 played by some 150 countries and its world cup includes 32 teams. That wud be great fun.

Its true that T20 is gaining popularity, but only hitting capabilities of batsman matters ijn this format of the game. But the real technical capabilities & temprament can be bust judged in ODIs without taking fun away from spectators

I heard similar views about One dayers. Each version of the game has it's merits and demerits. When it comes to entertainment value, T2 wins hands down.

Look at the way we call it, we call it a T20 game instead of with its full name Twenty Twenty. It is an indication of our impatience with undie delays. And the T2 game perfectly suits such temparaments.

In T-20 format it's not necessary that strongest team will win. Average players like M.Pandey, Asnodkar, R.Bhatia can become hero while star players like Ponting, Sachin, Flintoff can flop.
It's not a good platform for judging the strength of a team and players.

ITS A GOOD PLATFORM FOR JUDGING THE PEOPLE,OTHERWISE YOU WOULD NEVER HEAR THE NAME OF M PANDEY,ASNODKAR,AMIT MISHRA AND OTHERS,THESE BRILLIANT TALENT WOULD REMAIN IN SOME STREETS OF INDIA

If you will judge on T-20 basis, you will find 3 new players in each series. Players career will destroy because they can't perform consistently in T-20.
