McGrath is a legend bowler & out of 15 matches that Delhi Daredevils has played, he should give ti play the vital matches. Wrong captaincy & decision by Viru & Management.
Sehwag has been a demolition act While he is batting (WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE OF COURSE, IN PRESSURE SITUATIONS HE CAN HARDLY PERFORM).
But as a visionary, as a global leadership level, and that can clearly reflect the way he ansers question in the press, he is a BIG NOVICE. He failed (NOT SURE DELIBERATELY OR OTHEREISE) to get best out of aussie (when all others likes of Hayden, Gilly, Symmo, Brade Hodge and all other big names, barring a very few), were performing and delivering.
To ask Macgrath warm bences, he has shown an attitude, very SIMILAR to a self-destructive attitude, what Prakash Karath driven LEFT parties have shown in last 6 months or so. SELF_destruction. A shear arrogance and over-confidence and SEHWAG being the captain and that too an aggressive guy, is pathetc and lacks a corporate vision. He had every element with him to win this tourney, but HE FAILED.
Winning 10 out of 15 matches does not matter in corporate set up, if you do not win the target. SEHWAG failed a leader and failed to inspire a global hinking within Team DELHI.
This is not the way a legendary bowler must speak. There are certain circumstances wer a player has to be patient enough. If we jus think in teams perspective, i think there was no other option but to make MCgrath or Nannes sit out, as only 4 overseas players are allowed. So, i guess the deal has been fair enough! He might be frustated that he cant play for say abt 2 yrs now, and he's also taken a good bye frm Auzi team, so wat to do till then? There are certain other players who havent played even a single match, but are happy enough for the team, eg- CSK's Ntini, who is not yet been brought into action, inspite that he s very good in his own country pitches. But look at him, he s so calm, and more than the playin players he enjoy's the most in the dugout. So, sometimes things go in a wrong way, but u always try to cope up with the team and make their sprits high! I am not trying to justify the DDD team's management. But the thing is the spirit of the Player is to support the team and later to criticize and quit the team.

If u ignore ur hatred towards Auzzie players I don't think he said anything wrong. He only said he wud have liked to play a match. Wats wrong in speaking his heart out? He dint say anything against Viru or anybody. I think if anybody of his caliber was left out like this, they would have made a huge fuzz about it. Also Nannes doesnt deserve a place replacing a bowler like Glenn Mcgrath. See how he bowled to Gilchrist in the semi final. He wasn't quite sure where to bowl against Gilli. The decision to drop Mcgrath was a huge blunder. Probably that cost the daredevils the semifinal. Had he played he wud have got Gilli out, knowing his strengths and weaknesses playing with him this much years. May be he was the only bowler who retired from world cricket while playing at his peak, while playing as the Number one bowler of the National side.If he was not feeling fit he himself would have said it. Remember how the legendary Kapil Dev retired. He was playing his last matches just to make the world record. Being an Indian though I would love to see Sachin hit him all over the park, we can't deny the fact that he is the BEST BOWLER EVER.

First of all, why was he not picked for the first match for his reputation and track record. Why he needed to wait till someone like Nannes will be unfit?

Yes, you are right sunith, McGrath is a world class medium pacer, even in the last IPL season he has proved himself that he's worldclass though he was away from cricket before the first season of IPL. Its all dirty politics these DDD management playing against. Out of 14 at-least he could have given a chance to perform. Avishkar salvi, what rubbish bowler he is ? Can anyone compare him with pigeon...?its very sad that McGrath is sidelined, no wonder if he terminates himself from IPL season3. Its a definitely an insult for him.

well spoken sumit, viru is really stupid person in the cricket world mcgrath is really a very good bowler , all aus are doing much better then the present playing indians or other player, if he would have given a chance they would have reached the final .Viru deserve it and stay out better for him and his team.

Babu, CSK already have Ntini, who is not yet been brought into action, inspite that he s very good in his own country pitches. So, sometimes things go in a wrong way, but u always try to cope up with the team and make their sprits high!
McGrath would have been given chance in last league match with Mumbai. But, I dont feel, it would have helped in semifinals and finals (not anymore anyways) as he is totally out of form and no fitness which is needed in the field (if the captain felt so). One thing I liked is Dheeru showed that he is true indian who does not care for the name sake big whites, but would fo by his instincts and field realities. Dont need to lick the boots of whites. Wake up India.

false pride. you paid him for your team and don't want to use him. not to forget he has got 4 world cup final experiences and show great bowling achievement and don't bother to use him for single match. shewag must be arrogant and stupid captain for delhi. definitely, this IPL hurt ego of mcgrath and took right decision.
it was arragance from DDD by not picking Pigeon for Mumbai atleast in place of Nannes.. 4 overs from him can suggest Viru, how much fitness and fire is left in him... but he miss the trick completely...
