Ganguly The coach and captain....
by manoj kumar on May 27, 2009 09:16 AM

I thinnk it is better to make ganguly the coach of KKR then we can see KKR winning the title IPL3.
For IPL-1 lowermost seeded rajasthan won
IPL-2 lowermost seeded Decan won
IPL-3 lowermost seeded KKR will win.
If ganguly is the coach i am sure he will play well as captain or he will sit out himself on a bad fom

HE IS CORRECT
by phaneeswar on May 23, 2009 06:11 PM

I think Dinda is correct and I think Ganguly might have captained the side and his captancy might have avoided a distarous sesion for KKR. He is a very good captain and he will make vital contributions if he would have been the captain(like last year). I think SRK should stop relying on Buchanan policies and theories and he(Buchanan) proved what he is capable of. He dosen't have abilities to train domestic players and create a good relations with foreigners and he mainly depended on foreign players to perform and the relation between Indian players and foreign players was poor in this season of KKR team. I think he should sack Buchanan and his support staff and name a coach who has qualities of developing good relation between Indian and foreign players. More over he should not give all the powers to Buchanan itself like what he did in season 1 and season 2. He should give some powers to captain also and he should involve in team selection also(like what Mallaya did this season).

IPL tragedy
by sisir majumder on May 23, 2009 05:34 PM

KKR would have done better under Sourabh Ganguly, the best captain of India in recent time. The owner of KKR,Sharukh khan, has made an unrepairable blunder--giving excessive impotance the coach. He could not manage the team properly or he was unable to deploy the players as per their capabilities and could not arouse the spirit of the team. He has made a wrong decision, in selecting captain, which is a new theory-and unknown to players. This has made a great difference in IPL-Twenty 20 match and dedication of the players.

KKR has to Blame themselves....
by ss ss on May 23, 2009 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

Nothing was right for KKR from the start. The coach was not in favour of Ganguly as captain, considering his fitness and stuff...He came with Four captain theory...Whether it would be successful or not, yet to tested the infamous Press meet came and we all know How Ganguly behaved in that. Ganguly, the crying baby infront of the media did all the tricks and Indian media wrote all the stories about the captain theory...As a senior pro Ganguly should have discussed all the stuff inside the Four walls and if his view is not accepted he himself should have opted out of captaincy and play in the take as a senior player. But Four walls is always allergic to Ganguly...Ganguly didnt handled it properly and from there everything gone from bad to worse...Ganguly had a very pretty average tour...If Brad Hodge and oflate Hussey were not in the team, things might have gone very bad...So, IPL 2 is bad for KKR and for IPL 3 Shahrukh should come with some Basic, clean, professional approach.

First of all, improve your English.
Its pathetic.
Why shouldn't Ganguly not express his views infront of Media...??? KKR management shouldnt forget that they are handling India's most successfull captain.. He deserves respect. If there were issues, KKR should have setteled taking Sourav into confidence. Unfortunately, none including the owner could not handle. How dare the owner who is not having any sporting experience, comments on the credibility of Sunil Manohar Gavaskar...??? Is there any explaination???
Mr SSS SSS, first of all, understand the game and use little brain to understand the under curent.

Rock on, Thankx for advicing about my cricket and english knowledge. Ganguly is great player, no doubt about that...Just compare with Rahul, Kumble, Sachin,Laxman...They also face problems and for each and everything they didnt come to the media. Rahul had a tough season last year with RCB but still how he handled things...He didnt come to media for each and everything. You should earn respect and not to expect it. Game is bigger than any individual. SRK has invested money not Gavaskar...Inbetween the Zimbabwe tour, Ganguly to the media saying that he was asked to quit the captaincy that too on the 3rd day after completing his century. The interview was taken by Harsha Bhogle and Gavaskar. After that what happened everybody knows...These people are selfish and they think that they are above the game. They are very good players but in order to have powers they act like politicians...Shame of these guys...

What about your own English, Rock On? Do you think it is anything less than pathetic? If yes, I can help to clear this misunderstanding of yours.

1) First of all, you need to consult a dictionary for spellings.
For example, SETTELED, EXPLAINATION & SUCCESSFULL

2) You also need to work on your grammar. It is poor.
For example, you wrote:

A) Unfortunately, none including the owner could not handle.

B) Why shouldn't Ganguly not express his views in front of Media?

On both the occasions, there was no need to use the word "NOT". You should also have used "THE" before the word "MEDIA".

Finally, there is no need to say thanks for this short tutorial on English language skills. It is absolutely for free :):):)

Thank you for reading

Wake up India
by Rama A on May 23, 2009 11:10 AM

Friends, I am not from Kolkata, neither a hard core fan of Sourav. I am from Hyderabad. But I have great honour for Sourav's captaincy capabilities. BCCI awarded him the best captain of India in last 70 years. Having the best captain of India in the team, making other members as the captain looks silly and demeaning BCCI and Indian fans. It was given as award by BCCI with a big committee including Gavaskar and many others in that. There were many awards besides that, the best ever batsman, bowler, keeper, team etc etc and the best captain in Indian Cricket History given to Sourav Ganguly. I think this was in Sharad Pawar regime. Certainly, I agree with Dinda that KKR would have done better under Sourav. he could have made the narrow looses into wins. See the Australian people, one of the management person was saying that KKR team does not have good domestic players. This is totally nonsense. The captain did not make use of the existing capabilities. We Indians tend to forget the utterences by white people and still insult ourselves. I think people already forgot that Hayden said India as third world country and Gilly's charges on Sachin which were later covered up as he has business with Indian fans. Wake up India.

Agree with Dinda!!!That Aussie coach thinks he is the best and his arrogance showed. One thing Goras dont understand that whether its Business or Cricket, India and dealing with Indians is different. There are set of rules which Goras shd knw . After all this is the INDIAN premier league not the GORA premier league

Mccullum could not handle the arrogant Ganguly's attitude. No point in blaming Mccullum. This is the mentality we guys have.

Ganguly has attitude problem and he needs to get treatment with a therapist. Ganguly's attitude and arrogancy has brought him down. What a shame on him. He should retire from IPL too

Agree with you. Mccullum is the best keeper-batsmen in the team, still including W. Saha in the 11 means KKR doesn't have capable national batsmen, forget East, in their role.
