it is unlikely that DC will lose the place to KXIP. if the target for BRC, which already has a negative run rate, is simple (as calculated above), imagine a similar one for DC, which has a ve run rate. it is either BRC or KXIP and on the current strength, form book points to BRC.
teams with balance have made it to the next round.
anyhow calculations are nice, but still want to know whether these 20/20 matches has really made an impact in India? I know many people are so much interested in it, but jus want to know anyone is taking it so seriously??
I am not a fan of 20/20 cricket, but still likes test cricket very much as well as football. So, am i right in my point of view that are this 20/20 matches just a business?? or just a funny games played for a timepass??
As far as i have seen we just cannot determine the quality of a player in 20/20 irrespective of whether they takes hatrick or scroes fast hundreds, but only in test matches or even in 50 over matches we can know it right?? i felt is just a funny game played for 1 hour or 2 hous, but still come no way near to the thrill we get in watching an English premier league football or even a test match between two quality teams

As i am not a follower of football , so i am not sure how exciting it is. but can say for sure that it can not be as exciting as T20 matches. You hardly get to see 1 or 2 goals in the whole match, but when it comes to T20 you have a package of excitement with each bowl.

If u dont like 20/20, it doesnt mean that it will not be liked by anybody in India. It definitely is much more interesting than that age old test cricket.
I agree that real class of player can be determined only from the longer version, but 20/20 is much more exciting.

The problem these days is, you don't know if the comments are from a 14 yr old, mentally or physically. It is needless to say these calculations are very important for both Bangalore and Punjab. Also important for Hyderabad, if they want to control who they want to play in the semi-finals. It is the job of the author to present the facts as best as possible. Data in tables is much better than lengthy prose. good job by the author.
