When there was no review system, people used to shout from the rooftops about how available technology is not being put into proper use and now they still shout at how technology is not good enough...but one thing is for sure...if you have Indian Umpires standing in a test match , even 30 reviews wont be enough...The IPL is a proof of the absymal depths our Indian umpiring has reached...and the sad part is nobody seems to be bothered...since its not a money issue the BCCI wont care...but the existing crop of umpires are surely pathetic...the other day when Nehra belted out a massive lbw appeal against Mccullum, everyone watching in real time TV could see that the ball would have sailed over the stumps except the umpire...this is just one example of numerous ones....interestingly Pakistan is doing extremely well in this...they have at least 2 world class umpires...
The whole thing should be scrapped.The third umpire system for runouts,stumpings,snicks,clean catches ,or clean bowlds,should be adhered to. Otherwise why have field umpires at all,fours and sixes can also be decided technologically.
I fully agree. There should also be a objective assement of players playing in Ranji Trophy , Duleep Trophy , one day games etc to bring out the best to represent the country , not at the wims and fancies of the selectors , Head of Selection Board and the President of BCCI .For the above reason we have had a large number of players who have not doned the naional cap.well we all knew what happened with DV regime .
