Greg Chappell predicted this long ago.
by Junior Shelly on May 13, 2009 03:18 PM  | Hide replies

Greg Chappell predicted this misery surrounding a team which includes Sourav Ganguly when he was the coach of team India. Greg became fed up with the divisive manners of Ganguly even when the Indian team was performing badly and his performance a both captain and batsman was pathetic. Ganguly knew he won't be in the team unless he remains captain. For retaining his place, Ganguly had to lobby using those players whom he nurtured such as Yuvraj, Sehwag and Harbhajan.
Now with the Knight Riders, a team which he led last year without much success, he is doing the same. But he couldn't retain his place as skipper because of the presence of many well-known internationals who have nothing to do with his place in the team.
Ganguly is a spent force as far as competitive cricket is concerned. He is not fit enough to play a high-speed game, and he has proving it again and again.

GANGULY WAS AN AVERAGE PLAYER ESPECIALLY AGAINST STRONG BOWLING ATTACKS (UNLIKE SACHIN AND RAHUL). BUT AS THE CAPTAIN OF TEAM INDIA, HE WAS INSPIRATIONAL AND DARING. HIS PERFORMANCE GRADUALLY DECLINED ESPECIALLY AFTER THE 2003 WORLD CUP, BARRING SOME SPURTS LIKE THOSE IN HIS FINAL DAYS WITH TEAM INDIA. AFTER RETIREMENT, IT IS THERE FOR EVERY ONE TO SEE, THAT GANGULY HAS NOT WORKED ON HIS FITNESS TO BE ABLE TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF 20-20 CRICKET. AT THIS STAGE, HE DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE TO PLAY A GAME OF SUCH INTENSITY. APART FROM THAT, THE CONTROVERSIES REGARDING HIS REMOVAL FROM CAPTAINCY HAS CREATED SO MUCH FUSS, THAT PLAYERS ARE NOT ABLE TO CONCENTRATE ON THEIR GAMES. THE SO CALLED 'DADA FANS' IN BENGAL HAS ADDED TO THE MESS.
WONDER WHY THE FANS IN HYDERABAD IS NOT MAKING ANY NOISE ON LAXMAN'S REMOVAL FROM THE CAPTAINCY OF DECCAN CHARGERS. MAY BE THEY UNDERSTAND CRICKET AS JUST A GAME, NOT A PERSON.
ITS HIGH TIME GANGULY STOPS PLAYING COMPETITIVE CRICKET. BEING EMOTIONAL DOESN'T MEAN A PLAYER IS GOOD.

Ganguly dared to differ with the coach thts y he was successful. If he wud be a soothsayer like sachin he cud still play in the team but wud never be the kind of excellent captain he was. sachin can never be an excellent captain and that is known to all.
Ganguly is acuused to be divisive because he fought with coach chappal and selector more for inclusion of youngsters like yuvi, sehwag, bhajji.

knight riders suffering becoz of:
1) coach and support staff in the land of day dreaming and far away from gorund realities.
2) andy b.i.t.c.h.y. not teaching ballers to maintain line lenght and not give space to batsmen. Not telling them that in the first 5 overs the ball has to be right in the line of the wicket and not away from the body or full tosses. Not telling them that at death the main job of a baller is to ball dot balls and not try to take wickets.
4) Too many shifting and playing around with the batting order resulting players confused with their roles in each game. hear this " any player may have to bat at any order" lolz. how much time does a batsman batting at no.7 in previous match have to get to the right frame of mind when he comes at 9/2 in the 3rd over??? guess thts too much of a though to be expected from buchanan.

SO you keep playing musical chairs with entire batting lineup in each game. good strategy. wonder why it did not occur to other teams earlier??? I still see only one of the batsmen being changed in the batting order in other teams and tht too the batsman is given the intimation before the start of the game. In knight riders all need to sit padded, locked n bolted to jump out of the digin and start firing. No wonder the performance is so consistently great.

Yes KKR is reeling at the bottom of the table...even they could not defend 173, thanks to Mccullum's brilliant captaincy..and also to Buchanan for ousting ganguly and finally a big thanks to shahrukh for nodding his head to the white skinned dumbheads.....if ganguly was incharge things would have been different in the middle...I am happy that shahrukh's team has flopped and so will his movies going forward....he can be renamed as flop khan....

I am not saying he cannot play well but doubting his intentions of not contributing to the team when he is not captain...coz he is a divisive character.
