No. but consistency matters..he could have been easily scoring midle order runs that rajasthan have been struggling to do...and you dont have to score too many 4's and 6's to win IPL trophy,,,people should make sense and know abt cricket when they speak....
Anyhow, they have the power house Yusuf and smith who could win it for them

Now you contradicted yourself here. 'they have the power house Yusuf and smith who could win it for them'

And in the same message you say 'you dont have to score too many 4's and 6's to win IPL trophy'

You don need as many 4 and 6 as possible, cause you have 20 overs to maximize your score as much as you can. Just like you mention Yusuf and Pathan the Power houses can win it that way..

It is a pity that MALINGA who really throws the ball all the time is not suspended yet...

Malinga is a slinger, notta chucker. He uses the pace of his shoulder to generate pace, and what makes him dangerous is the spot he chooses to land the ball in, which he has mastered by constant practice - something that McGrath also was know n for - pitching the ball consistently in the right areas to get the right line, length and bounce. The only difference between McGrath and Malinga (apart from their swinging/ slinging action i.e., the degree the hand is swayed, and not bent) is the different spots they chose for their deliveries to land in. Whereas McGrath's deliveried used to land on the 'off' and bounced, Malinga's deliveries wud land right at the batsman's toe with no room for the batsman to get a bounce.

Appreciate ur knowledge about the finer points of bowling actions. Malinga may not be bending his arm, but definitely his slinging action comes from sideways. Now is there any ICC rule which says how much of sideways is permissible ? I doubt. While for bending the forearm, there has been a limit set , I think its about 15 degrees. Even that was set more due to pressure tactics from the cricket majors, bcos some of the bowlers had that problem by birth or by intent. Definitely sideways action does aid the bolwer with an unfair advantage of both extra pace and precision.

I dont know why people blog without knowing the rules of the game. to make it easier for motley fools, here is the definatio, if you are not able to understand it i really cant help it. God save u
"Originally, this definition said that the elbow joint must not straighten out during the bowling action. Bowlers generally hold their elbows fully extended and rotate the arm vertically about the shoulder joint to impart velocity to the ball, releasing it near the top of the arc. Flexion at the elbow was allowed, but any extension of the elbow was deemed to be a throw and would be liable to be called a no ball. This was thought to be possible only if the bowler's elbow was originally held in a slightly flexed position"

Use Shoaib Akhter as an example. He still thorws when bowling fast delivery but no one raises issue. Because he went to Australia for test and got clearance to throw now..

injury while playing ?
by sameer on May 12, 2009 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

Warnie did not succeed in scoring with both the sisters. Then how come this injury? He must be faking to escape the ignominy of not making it to semis.

Hamstring takes just minor twist of body sometime to get damaged. This applies to the sportmen, who has the muscles stretched and stressed due to heavy work out requirements..
