Yusuf Pathan image
by L on Nov 04, 2010 07:54 PM

Hi,

Could I ask what the usage rights on the Yusuf Pathan image are? I'd love to use it as a basis for an illustration for a cricket game I'm making. I don't see a photographer credited or copyright notice so take it should be okay to use, but please let me know if otherwise and let me know who to contact about it.

Thanks!

L

Kamran Khan has been put out of action for illegal bowling action, but the wickets he took and the consequent damage done to the opponent teams remains. Now, another bowler, Amit, is under scanner for illegal bowling action, but he has been instrumental in RR winning against a couple of teams.

These incidents leave a few questions:

a) By barring the players, only future damage is averted. But what of the illegal and unjustified damage done by these bowlers to opponent teams in already concluded matches?

b)RR has a bowler captain. Couldn't he have smelt the problem cropping up and avoided using these bowlers at all?

c) When RR captain failed to do so, is it justified to give a high rating to team RR under "King Fisher Fair Play" ratings?

d) What is the view of public about imposing a penalty on RR team and captain for using suspect bowlers for the sake of surprising the opponents and winning at any cost?

e) Can there not be a system in place in IPL / under ICC rules for PRIOR clearance of any new bowler coming up at international level / in IPL matches, by a technical committee, so that the opponent teams are not put to any disadvantage?

few points...as far as i know RR doesn't have a good place in king fisher fair play. The suspect action for kamran khan is only for particular deliveries. I think it was those deliveries that he puts some extra effort into it. Amit Singh has been reported but he is still allowed to play and as far as i know Amit Singh used to play domestic cricket in india. How come he was never reported then. RR is well within its rights to use bowlers that will help them win matches. So can other teams. Its the umpires job to catch and report. Bowlers should be checked for suspect action while playing domestic cricket. Wh
