I doubt sehwag will get orange cap ever. He is not the guy who sticks till the end, he will hit a quick fire knocks and if he is very lucky,, then a big one. So Orange caps are for Haydens and Dravids and Gambhirs

a captain is as good as his team........ ask ponting to produce same results whe warne mcgrath hayden gilly were around then why is he struggling..... why can't he play great and match winning now because there are no grt players around him... same with sachin whe he was captain he did not had grt team repsonsibl were akways on him.......... now we have sehwag gambhir raina yuvraj dhoni ysusuf zaheerwhich makes everyone play there natural and fear free game......... even bradman can't make zimbabbwe or kenya to win matches.. hope it makes sense friends... any comments....

I makes sense most of the times but you can see what Warne did with Rajasthan Royals last year and now kumble has started doing with RBCs without two of their most expensive players(KP and Ryder).
They have turned a ordinary looking team into a good performing team. So a good captain does make a big difference. No one rates Ponting as a great captain.
A captain can change the outlook of a team with his talks and actions and inspiring the team (like Warne is doing with RR)

mr venugopal ur comment is rather contradictory u named sehwag yuvraj gamhbir khan etc etc
it was gangully who was responsible for the initial growth of these players
when he was made the capt the team was in disarray
he created a bunch of world beaters from a bunch of clowns
which stands as a testimony in itself of great captaincy

One point, Dravid hardly captained India any time, Chappell used to be the official coach and unofficial captain. It was shown when Dravid resigned from captaincy just a few months after Chappall resigned from coaching.

your analysis is very vague and lacks a common sense as to what constitutes "minnows"and what indicates "quality".
Whether they were winning abroad / domestic matches should be a parmeter

Bullshit. With his south indian brains, Kumble has taken the maximum number of wickets in test and One cricket for India. And do you know how our strong batting lineup performed including our Sachin under Kumble's captaincy where we lost matches. Please check the records and comment.

Now greatest Gangulian period full of Zimbabwe Bangla Desh wins
Series win against quality opposition nil. How can we say him greatest ever captain?

Captaincy series wins abroad against quality opposition
Pataudi one series win
Bedi and Wadekar 2 Series wins each against mighty of their times.
Azar Ganguly one each against quality oppositiom

but Ganguly Captaincy only series win gainst PAK abroad was shared so credit is devided between Dravid and Ganguly.
Dhoni and Gavaskar one each against mighty side of their times Australia.
Verdict- Ganguly was not most successful captain as projected by eastern journo and fans. As he captained for much lomger time with support of then Dalmiya. But he could not achieve what Bedi, Wadekar, Dhoni, Gavaskar achieved in shorter duration as captain.
