munaf has been performing well for rajasthan in ipl. but somewhat unlucky for his much hyped fielding lethargy. however, its good to see rp singh back after good performances. cant say much abt irfan selection. yusuf has justified his selection as batting allrdr.

jadeja is a very good talent n has performed well in the very few chances he got. ironically, there r some who gets on chances inspite of repeated failures.
in fact, rohit has been persisted with inspite of so many failures. isnt it surprising?
SERIOUSLY, guys, I just can't believe that as many as 746 (as of now) persons found time enough to comment on such a trivial issue as the team for some insignificant event that is virtuall kids' play, when there are so many other vital issues. I did not see these many comments on other articles on this very portal. This is really tragic. I hang my head in shame.

You are right, I have shouted the same concern in many portals for example when Hockey team won in KaulaLampur there were hardly two or three messages. This sends a wrong signal to media and all the channels actively give prime air time to IPL, SRK , Zinta, Shilpa etc all crap. IPL is not even an international sport this sport should be dealt as an entertainer and close at that but people talk about at lenght and depths about this. Thats realy a tragic.
not many players from Mumbai and karnataka this shows that now indian team is picked on the basis of talent not like in 80s and 90s when most of the players used to be from either Mumbai or Karnataka GUNDAPPA VISHWANATH as cheif selector had 5 to 6 karnataka players in mid 90s really after ganguly took up captaincy, he along with john wright ended this zonal politics and now indian team is purely picked on talent thanks to ganguly and john wright

Your comments show that you are not a follower of the game for a long time and you are a recent follower of the game. All karnataka players selected by gundappa vishwanath are all great players who contributied more to the game. dont talk rubbish about viswanath who is more attached to the game than to the individual.

You people won't stop these crap. There can be only 15/16 for a squad. If all state has to be represent by someone, that team can't be best team.
Hi,Ananth here i feel the team has been selected keeping the players form in consideration. all the players selected are in good form expect Viru & Gambhir who have not fired untill now, don't forget that powerful opening pair in the world cricket at present. hope they will come back in form by the end of IPL 2009 series.
